Summary:

Structural Mechanic/Sheet Metal - Solid background in aviation and all phases of structural assembly and operations; proficiently in performing, diagnosis and repair responsibilities; with a wide knowledge of performing installations, analysis, checkups and malfunction detection of flight controls, fuel systems, and all associated components. Determining sequence of work operations by referring to blueprints, sketches, procedures and production tooling to establish location and relationship of parts. Troubleshoot, repair and overhaul aircraft systems and engines. Lay-put coordinated hold patterns, cutouts, trim lines, mating points and assembly locations from dimensions obtained from production blueprints and engineering change drawings or templates. Assemble and mate structural parts and assemblies where critical tolerance requires precise hand and positions of part or where the sequence and methods of hand layout, trimming, forming, shimmying and aligning operations change or vary considerably on subsequent assemblies due to such conditions as variance in the size, degree of contour of parts and assemblies, inadequate tolling or excessive accumulated tolerance. Hand trim and finish forming parts and assembles to fit airfoil surfaces where the required contour, filing edge distance and clearance must remain constant over large areas and be held to close tolerance, C and D checks.
