NICHOLAS NETZ
Trauma, Substance Abuse and Rehabilitation Professional
BACKGROUND
My biggest asset is my own lived
experience of generational trauma,
poverty, incarceration, and hardship,
which helps me connect with
affected populations through mutual
understanding. These experiences
have motivated me to serve as an
agent of change for my community
and have been the single greatest
teacher in my life. I aspire to end
cycles of harm in a future career as a
substance abuse counselor, with a
special emphasis on formerly
imprisoned and unhoused
populations. Given the attrition of
mentorship and guidance these
populations face, I see my role as a
positive community influence to be
very important in creating new
cultures of care and harm reduction.
Not only do I want to show my clients
what’s awaiting them in sobriety by
showing them how far I’ve come, I
want to instill in them that they can do
the same and that healing is possible.
I am currently available for full-time
employment in the Greater Los
Angeles area.
