COLLEGIATE COUNSEL, INC. (8 years, after sale of JMA, Inc) 2011 – 2019(Retired) Executive Search Consultants – President, CEO and Senior Consultant of five consultants Boutique firm that provided professional search counsel to governing boards and presidents of liberal arts colleges in the identification, evaluation and appointment of senior leadership.

JON McRAE & ASSOCIATES, INC. (40 years) 1969 – 2009 Executive Search Consultants – President, CEO and Senior Consultant of Ten Consultants Firm provided search counsel for trustees and presidents of educational institutions who were conducting leadership searches for presidents, vice presidents, deans, directors, and other senior administrators. Firm assumed responsibility for coordinating all phases of the search in a comprehensive, timely and professional manner. Defined goals, identified and evaluated candidates, conducted in-depth reference evaluations, facilitated meetings of the search committee, and enabled the selection of the most eminently qualified candidates. In 2009 the firm was acquired by Kirby Godsey, Chancellor at Mercer University, renamed Myers-McRae and relocated to Macon, where it continues today. McRae served in the transition, 2009-2011. From 1969 to 1988, the firm was in Charlotte and was acquired by MSL in Atlanta, which was acquired by Goddard, Kay and Rogers International, headquartered in London. In 1990 Jon McRae & Associates was reestablished as higher education consultants. Earlier in his career, Jon worked in sales, bank lending and as an Infantry Officer, completed Airborne and Ranger schools, and served in the Third Regiment at Fort Jackson as Director of Advanced Infantry Weapons Training. He also held a commercial, multi-single-engine-land certification with an instrument rated pilot’s license, owned and flew four private airplanes across the nation for more than twenty years.
