Radio Communications Manager, August 1998 – July 2016
Managed a 3 man shop responsible for maintaining $2.5 Million of 2-way radio communications equipment. This consisted of 7,000 pieces of equipment used for communications between the dispatchers, drivers and dock operations located throughout the United States.
Initiated and managed a multi-million dollar program for in-house design and manufacturing of a proprietary MDT (Mobile Data Terminal). This innovative technology streamlined the billing process by allowing drivers to fax in paperwork while still on the road. This dramatically increased efficiently in the billing process.
Designed 2-Way Radio Dispatch Communication Systems installed on various towers and buildings located throughout the United States utilizing RF engineering software.
Audited monthly telecommunications bills for base station control circuits and 800
Sprint/Verizon cell phones and direct connect devices. Lowered yearly costs by $175,000 through reorganization of communication assets and streamlining the acquisition of said assets.
Liaison to the FCC on all R&L Carriers’ FCC licensing issues including applying, modifying and maintaining FCC licenses for R&L Carriers, Inc.

Program, troubleshoot and repair VHF, UHF and HF 2-Way radios on the bench utilizing various test equipment and software.
