Ladies and Gentlemen:

I am applying for the part-time Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Research Analyst position with the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). Please accept this letter and resume of application.

My experiences as a federal employee, director, and administrative director of federal civil rights programs, DEIA Trainer, mentor of individuals advancing to leadership positions, and engagement with universities have provided an excellent background and preparation for assuming this position.

My administrative record of success spans over twenty years of progressively responsible leadership and development of professionals and programs. I bring to the table a proven track record in strategic communications, a skill that I am confident will be instrumental in driving the DEI initiatives at AAMC. As my résumé documents, I am a thought leader with a vision to assist AAMC in building relationships. I am self-motivated, goal-oriented, professional, and accustomed to accepting responsibility, delegating authority, and delivering results.

Importantly, as an administrator, I work with people from diverse backgrounds at all academic, medical, and organizational levels. My professional experience includes facilitating collaboration among students, faculty and staff, government leaders, and institutional administrators to achieve common goals, including financial literacy.

As you stated, “We are dedicated to the communities we serve and steadfast in our goals to improve the health of people everywhere.” I am also dedicated to this vision and believe it is essential that we work with state and federal representatives, human and academic resource personnel, and other key stakeholders.

Respectfully,

Della Streaty-Wilhoit, Ph.D.
