Production section Foreman over a super section, worked into assistant shift foreman, then to shift foreman, responsible for staffing each production super section with enough men to run coal. Task trained employees on new tasks and conducted equipment operator training for new positions as employees bid to different jobs.

Conducted safety meetings with mine superintendent and general mine foreman daily with section supervisors attending.

Communicated with each section supervisor daily to obtain information pertaining to each individuals section such as cut cycle, supplies on hand vs supplies needed, equipment downtime, maintenance schedules to be completed, accident reports, and previous shifts information on production reports. Compiled daily information from all sections from both production and dead work shifts to complete daily sheet and fax to main office and corporate headquarters. Handled payroll and ordered supplies and kept inventory for all personal protective equipment (P. P. E.), kept daily log and time study reports from each section and each equipment operator. Conducted safety audits and meetings with all mine staff weekly, performed safety audits on operators daily.

Communicated and traveled with state and federal mine inspectors daily while designating outby or section foremans to correct any hazards or violations found in assigned areas. Made ventilation changes when necessary.

Performed pre-shift and on-shift examinations of the mine correcting or dangering off any hazardous or dangerous condition found.

Recovered and set pumps, traveled airways weekly, kept refuge and scsr cache maps updated and moved up.

Responsibilities

I maintained a single section production mine with a walking super section, and a transfer tunnel from another deep mine and surface mine.

Communicated with mine superintendent and general mine Foreman daily and pre planned for the next shift prioritizing section advance moves, belt advancements, setting conveyor head drives, take-ups, and inline flow throughs.

Scheduled maintenance tasks such as but not limited to rebuilding tail pieces, changing take-up ropes and pulleys, speed reducers, drive chains, discharge primary and secondary belt scrapers, and all major section equipment preventative maintenance tasks.

Laid and recovered track, hauled section supplies, kept supplies moved up to section, hauled trash and core parts outside to proper receptacles. Kept all battery powered haulage equipment charging stations moved up and ventilated.

Trained inexperienced miners on work tasks, safety, equipment operation, and company standard operating procedure.

Handled disciplinary procedures for any employee who broke any company policies or conducted any unsafe acts.
