/ Actualize-It Group; full-time remote position
● Developed and designed upgrade to optics module in reticle inspection capital equipment for KLA-Tencor. This involved tolerance and concept analysis to determine the best design.
● Designed transmission inspection station for mass production of optical arrays for next gen. Magic Leap Augmented Reality glasses. Included precision Z-stage to lift optics. Capable of sub 25 sec. inspections for automated assembly line. Managed draftsmen to create assembly instructions.
● Designed profile inspection station utilizing autocollimator for Magic Leap. Included 3 stages for XYZ control.
● Designed air-gap inspection station utilizing interferometer. Included 3 stages for XYZ control. 07/2021 – 12/2022: Technical Project Manager for Entegris, Contractor / Oxford Global Resources; full-time Remote position
● Developed fully-automated membrane testing machine based on manual R&D lab test. Included logging of results on on-premises server and meeting fire safety requirements.
● Led Engineering and Production teams to develop and document equipment requirements for quoting process as well as Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing documents. I performed multiple FATs as well.
● Worked with Sales, Mechanical & Electrical engineering, NPI, project managers, Logistics and Finance teams (both USA and Taiwan) overseeing the purchase, building, testing, shipping and import of 17 Tools for a new production facility underway in Taiwan. This involved working with personnel from Taiwan to Sweden.
11/2019 – 6/2021: Mechanical Design Engineer, Nova Measuring Instruments
• Developed 2nd gen. Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometer into world’s 1st in-line production inspection tool. Also debuted as world’s 1st multi-element inspection tool. This system utilized an RF Plasma and required designing for an Ultra High Vacuum scanning environment.
• Analyzed 400 lb. lid/optics assembly of X-Ray spectroscopy inspection Tool for operator access utilizing FEA and Free Body Diagrams to validate safety for certification.
• Managed Top-Level assembly of both SIMS tool and X-Ray spectrometry tool in SolidWorks. SIMS tool was largest file that Solidworks Distributer had ever seen. Over saw SW update including Vault. 9/2018 – 6/2019: Senior Optomechanical Design Engineer, Coherent
• Designed fixturing to manufacture precision optics and kinematic tooling for interferometric inspections of large optics for satellites.
• Designed tooling to handle large optic substrates (1.5 meter OD, 450 lb.) for the Thirty Meter Telescope project currently under way in Hawaii. This required FEA analysis to guarantee substrate and personal safety.
• Performed coating stress analysis of optics utilizing FEA. 4/2017 – 9/2018: Optomechanical Design Engineer, KLA-Tencor, Contractor / Blue Ridge Systems, Inc.
● Used G D & T to design passive alignment tooling to specification for brightfield objective lens array. Included FEA stress analysis on flexures. The tooling helped System Engineers to seamlessly integrate Next Generation Objective Lens ahead of schedule.
● Used understanding of manufacturing processes and GD & T to improve design of prototype optical alignment tooling.
● Managed Collection Optics System Solid model assembly. 6/2013 – 3/2017: New Product Integration Engineer for KLA-Tencor, Contractor / Blue Ridge Systems, Inc.
● Used G D & T to design precision fixtures to hold next generation cylindrical lens’ and UV filters for transmission inspection and profiling by Optical Engineering.
