Systems Innovation:

Pioneered the implementation of the Ligno Global Logistics System

(LGLS) thereby slashing manpower by 50%. The system eliminated duplication of information capturing and created a platform for constructive reporting structures by providing data visibility with speed and accuracy for informed decision making.

Process Improvement:

Streamlined export shipment bookings directly with shipping lines eliminating the use of 3rd party services resulting in an annualized savings of ZAR 1.5 million.

Logistics Management:

Championed packaging efficiency improvement from 24 000 kgs to 25 000 kgs per export container driving down logistics cost by 4% - ZAR 4 million per annum. Implemented a cost-effective logistics operation for Brazil market by converting bulk liquid shipments transported in chemical tankers to flexi-tanks (160 tanks per month) driving CM1 from negative to break even.

Drove colour coding of 25kg bags for easy identification resulting in off-spec elimination and waste reduction.

Customer Demand and Satisfaction:

Facilitated the custom building of external liquid storage tanks (4 x 500m3) to satisfy local market demands.
