Re: The position of Admission Coordinator
Greetings Human Resource Director:
I am writing this letter to express my most sincere interest in the Admission Coordinator position recently posted via Kolmac website. Currently, I am an undergrad at University Maryland Global Campus pursuing my Bachelors in Psychology and have been eagerly, awaiting to transition more to interact into the community that will best suit my skills set within the mental health and healthcare enterprise. It is my understanding that you are seeking a candidate who is reliable, organized and revenue driven. For more than six years, I have served as Maryland’s Outreach Community Coordinator, Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program Counselor (CPRPC) and Case Manager for Volunteers of America Chesapeake Hope Center (VOACHC) at the Greenbelt location. My primary role consisted of recruiting, admission, coordination, development, and resource building for vulnerable sector communities who relied heavily on our outreach expertise. For three (3) years I interfaced with an independent living population at Leola Dorsey Resource Center (Howard County) to help transition them from displacement to permanent housing opportunities. While working at Pratt and PACA Houses in Baltimore County, I was able to effectively coordinate a series of treatment therapies between chemically dependent residents and a variety of local treatment providers. Additionally, as CPRPC, I enrolled over twelve hundred consumers into the PRP Program between Leola Dorsey, PACA and Pratt Houses. During my tenure, the recidivism ratio for both behavioral health and consumers diagnosed with co-occurring disorders was a two-thirds success rate. I feel that I am the most formidable candidate for the Admission Coordinators position because, I bring with me a rich and diverse background of revenue building, leadership, and corporate diplomacy. I would be willing to put my work ethic and passion for treatment of the mentally ill up against that of my competition.
As my resume indicates, I have more than a decade of experience working with the mentally ill women, infants, and children (WIC) and those seeking for public health benefit reinstatements with the State of Florida. From 1994 to 2004, my various roles as a public health coordinator allowed me to see the big picture the public health life cycle. While completing initial admissions assessments, submitting quarterly clinical assessments, billing for revenue operation and collecting statistics, I learned the value of how budgeting, time management, and consistent consumer communication impacts the patients, families, and the providers. One of my most rewarding opportunities in the industry of mental healthcare was from 2016 to 2019. I enrolled more than twelve-hundred (1200) individuals into the program to receive the help that they needed. I had a ratio of 98% every quarter of the month. I worked closely with the client’s and their family members AND listened and observed their cry outs for help. By expressing empathy and sympathy toward these individuals was the beginning of a rapport and exercising these tools and more are one of the most important tools when working with mental health clients.
I value respect, leadership, diversity of care and collegiality as the people of public health and certainly, I value the core values of Kolmac. I believe the Admission Coordinator position will expound upon my lifelong desire for a vision where mental healthcare is accessible for all.
I look forward to the opportunity to discuss, in person and in more detail about how I can fill this position.
Sincerely,
/s/

Maryland Outreach Community Coordinator
As Maryland’s Outreach Community Coordinator for VOACC, I have emerged with an understanding that healthcare logistics are as equally vital to providing quality healthcare to the under served as is gaining their trust and confidence. Within the past twenty-four months, I have researched, collaborated and engaged more than one-thousand local service agencies whose participation with VOACC is intended to help broaden our jurisdictional reach. To name a few of several examples, in the year of 2021 I participated in Community Health Fairs hosted by N.E.W. Community Reinvestment (Unity), PG County Department of Safety and Correctional Services, and the City of Mount Rainer Police Department as a means to increase consumer referrals for the 2021 fiscal year. I am currently signed up to attend the 13th Annual Baltimore Healthy Expo on Saturday, March 26th 2022 at the Baltimore Convention Center. From 2017 to 2020, I enrolled and served a caseload of more than thirty-five consumers in the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP) at Leola Dorsey Resource Center (LDRC) in Columbia, MD. During my tenure at LDRC, I increased consumer participation in the PRP more than 90%. Currently, I am hosting several coats drives throughout our local region, which are intended to increase consumer referrals for the HOPE CENTER located in Greenbelt, MD. On average I recruit twenty new referrals from Prince George’s, Montgomery, Baltimore and Howard Counties, monthly. One of my most recent accomplishments is the partnership with GIANTS PHARMACY (December 2021) with whom we provide COVID-19 VACCINATIONS monthly at the Greenbelt location, PG County. I have learned how effective outreach has the potential to successfully impact the direction of how we provide mental health and clinical hygiene services that are second to none.
