Verizon Data Services - Irving, TX 1997 – 2015
IT Tech Manager – Program Manager / Project Manager / Release Manager
Direct report for 7 years to Senior Vice President with team of 12 program/project managers. We supported the IT applications from associate entry to dispatch, from requirements gathering sessions to deployment. This meant interaction with all types of team’s including consumer and small business employees and contractors for both onshore and offshore facilities. Lead meetings and created presentations from Senior Executives to coding leads. Responsible each year for business cases that totaled in excess of $200 million. This ranged from data collection to assuring the approved projects budgets were given.
Performed data and process analysis. Requested to lead projects viewed as in jeopardy. Used AGILE techniques to lead RAD sessions assuring that the business, functional, software requirements, and high level designs were completed and in line with the customers’ requests as well as what IT could and would deliver.
Performed Agile-like project management. Performed all project management functions for full software life cycle development and support using modified Agile methodology. Major accomplishments included:
Sale of 13 Verizon/fGTE states to Frontier Communications and the implementation of all applications which support those states, upgrade of application where reps entered orders to .net (project took over 8 months from requirements gathering to implementation), development and management of adding Verizon to the internet, sale of Genuity and hand off of billing application.
Contractor: Dallas area, TX 1993 - 1997
GTE. Performed requirements analysis and integration strategies for process re-engineering and many projects under the umbrella of re-engineering.
Previous experience:
-2 years owned my own advertising business – sold, designed and printed over 20,000 coupon books which were hand delivered to American and Delta Airline employees
-7 years in Fire Protection industry – 5 years with Wormald Fire Protection as office manager, 1 year out onsite at Vandenberg Airforce base as head of accounting, and then created a collections department and collected over 5 million in outstanding debt. Wormald is now out of business. I left Wormald to go with a startup company that was bought out by Grinnell
-7 years in the insurance industry – 5 years with MONY as office manager in many locations from Louisville, KY to the largest sales office in Albany New York. Left MONY and moved back to Louisville where I worked for 2 years with Northwest Mutual life before pursuing other interests in Texas.
