BACKGROUND

I have over 20 years of experience as a Medical laboratory technician/Scientist performing hematology, chemistry, Blood Bank and microbiology tests in a general hospital laboratory setting. Extensive experience using the Meditech, Epic and Cerner software to record and report patient results as well as 10 years’ experience with computer hardware, repairs and upgrade. Additional experience with computer software installation, software upgrade, software training to others, HTML Programming and Web site development and software testing.

Medical Lab Tech, Feb. 2013 – Present

Student Health Center

Performs routine and stat clinical pathology testing appropriate to the laboratory discipline and reports results in a timely manner with occasional guidance. Responsible for the accurate performance of laboratory tests and other duties in a manner that complies with all approved protocols. Utilizes basic problem-solving skills to assure accurate and reliable clinical outcomes.

Microbiology Department (Microbiology Clinical Lab)

Perform all sample setup in the general Microbiology Lab, plate all sample under the hood as needed, perform testing as needed, and store the plates in the necessary environment for growth.

Bone Marrow Collection and Processing

Perform specimen distributions after collection and identification, processing the aspirate, Smear Preparation and Distribution.

Immunopathology Department

Perform the RPR (Rapid Plasma Reagin) procedure which is the method used for the diagnosis of Syphilis, a nontreponemal test. Plasma and Serum are used for the testing and must be run within 48 hours after drawn.

Stem Cell Processing Laboratory

Responsible for processing, storing, transporting and thawing stem cells for administration to the patient at the clinic as inpatient and outpatient.
