Duties: I perform the following functions receiving, warehousing and/or packing operations: Receives, unloads, and processes incoming shipments reporting over, short, or damaged conditions. Checks and visually and physically examines a variety of incoming material. Assembles items into groups based on information shown on the receiving vouchers and segregates materials according to such factors as condition, type of transaction, or property class and routes along appropriate processing lines. Selects, stores, stacks, palletizers items based on their use, size, shape, quantity, and possibility of contamination. I fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other items and selects items for shipment or issue verifying or preparing documentation either manually or by using automated equipment. I check lists showing stock identification changes to insure that the proper items are selected and assembled for issue. Assembles items for shipment in the loading area according to information provided on the shipping requests, and checks the condition of shipping containers prior to loading. I complete and sign shipping and receiving reports. Keeps record of materials or items received or distributed. Counts types and quantities of items during inventories, and maintains tally listings during the count. I work closely with buyers to see if parts are available to fill upcoming workload. I perform inventory counts in my work area and input all findings into automated system. I research and document all discrepancies for the management team. I operate various size forklifts and electric pallet jacks to move material around the warehouse area. I pick and assemble material by priority or by what has to be pulled in the area with emergency picks done immediately and must also consider lower priorities that have not been packed in a reasonable amount of time. Prior to pulling stock, I verify information, checks shelf life where applicable to ensure correctness. I pack or repack packages when required and selects the proper packing material to provide adequate protection. Determines appropriate method of packing based on the type of commodity/item to be packed. I select containers from a variety of standard sized containers and determine types of cushioning materials or devices to use in order to prevent shifting or breakage of material/item being shipped. I perform all duties assigned wearing the required PPE and adhering to all safety rules/regulations.
