Acadiana Treatment Center: Currently employed as a Recreational Therapist/Activity Therapist assessing, planning activities, implementing, and evaluating an adolescent population to facilitate patient progress within treatment goals. Plan and implement activity interventions that promote a safe, healthier use of leisure time . Facilitate and lead activity sessions for over 35+ individuals to help improve one’s mental and physical well-being. Instruct patients in activities and provide emotional outlets utilizing arts, music, cognitive games, and physical domains. Direct and supervise activity staff in implementation of the activity therapy program, if applicable. Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards individuals always. Vermilion Behavioral Hospital: Employed as a Recreational Therapist currently at facility. Obtain information from medical records, medical staff, family members or patients themselves to assess patient capabilities, needs and interests. Plan, organize, direct and participate in treatment programs and activities to facilitate patient rehabilitation, from adolescents, to adults, along with geriatric population included. Acadiana Treatment Center: Employed as a Behavioral Health Technician, the goal was to be Responsible for providing care services to patients at the facility under the direction of clinical or nursing leadership. Also assisted patients with their daily living activities(ADL’s) and administer basic health care or treatments. Participated in therapeutic or recreational group activities with the patients and participated in rehabilitation and treatment programs; help assist patients in achieving and maintaining care goal.(February 2020- December 2020)

Genesis Behavioral Health Unit in Breaux Bridge Internship: Worked with 20+ individuals with Mental illnesses and disabilities. Learned to Assess, Plan, Implement, and Evaluate individuals as well as providing treatment planning.

Southern University’s Marching Band Camp: Supervised over 300+ middle and high school kids for three summers. Assisted flute/piccolo players in the right direction by teaching them how to sustain notes, tones, and pitches. Also taught them how to march on the field and the importance of discipline/dedication. My responsibility was to get them from where they were, to where they have never been.
