MSR – Member Service Representative / April 2005 – October 2007
I started here when it was originally called Common Wealth Credit Union which then eventually amalgamated with two other institutions to form Servus Credit Union. I started as a MSR which entailed helping members with daily banking needs and assisting them in any matters that pertained to their bank accounts. I had to balance my cash/computer at the end of every shift and every month retain a 90% balancing record or receive warning. After working that position I applied for the Financial Advisor position. In this position I opened new accounts for members, did small loans, mortgages, small business loans and some investing.
When I was not busy with members or current loans I would go out on to the floor and assist the MSRs with any member needs. I was also trained to supervise the MSRs on Saturdays. In this position I was given a branch key to open and close the branch as well as alarm codes. I had to deal with any unsatisfied members that came in that day and try to resolve their problem as well as make sure the MSRs were doing their jobs as well
