Expected to assist clients to a higher level, be knowledgable about the product and carry yourself well, working on comission based sales.
Helping with visual layouts as 18montrose was a botique store that they ended up clsoing down and moving it in to the larger Cruise.
Go Outdoors.
Classic retail role, have to know all aspects of the stock to help customers, have a knowledge of certain jackets, shoes, and other equipment.

Blacks (outdoor retailer) on Argyle Street.
Classic responsibilities of a retail role, helping customers, security tagging items of clothing and footwear, preparing and packaging deliveries from online sales.
Making the shop inviting for customers, good customer service etc. This job was good for building my retail experience, although the product portfolio lacked interesting brands.
“Hang ON” climbing centre/shop as climbing assistant. Hamilton
Responsibilities include; working with children coaching kids clubs, birthday parties, dealing with customers, registering them through the P.O.S system, managing the till, general admin.
We also sold a range of products at the centre ranging from tape and chalk to chalk bags, shoes and accessories such as brushes and loose chalk. An extensive knowledge of the products was required to establish what would be best suited for customers’ needs.
A major part of working at the centre was building relationships with the customers. We had returning regulars that purchased monthly or yearly memberships. They would use the centre most days and it was rewarding to build relationships with them. However it was also part of my job to make sure any new faces were comfortable, knew where everything was, and most importantly were having a good time.
