• As a Medical Assistant 2 I was responsible for the timely rooming of patients, obtaining all vitals, history, allergies and current medications, the completion /documentation of PHQ 9 and/or GAD 7 and CSAs, updating SDOH and Patient Care Gaps according to provider's/facility's protocol then updating and completing all EHR entries pertaining to the patient's visit(s) or communication(s), I was also responsible for disinfection and stocking of exam rooms according to the facility's protocols and the provider's preferences, I informed patients of lab results after the providers review and upon providers request, I performed patient triage and appropriately routed this information per provider/facility protocol, I handled medication refills via provider's protocol and SOPs. I was responsible for assisting different physicians and physician extenders in all areas of clinical and administrative duties which included but was not limited to Patient Rooming, EKGS, Minor Surgical Procedure Assisting, Ear Lavage, Spirometry, PFTs,POCT and Oral and Injectable Medication Administration upon provider's orders, on the clerical side I managed multiple provider's inbox, my chart and phone messages and resolved or routed patient communications to the appropriate provider/personnel in a timely manner while adhering to facility protocols, I was responsible for reviewing of patient's charts to obtain appropriate ICD 10 and CPT codes in order to obtain approval from the patient's insurance for specialty referrals, prior authorizations for medications, DME, Radiological or Surgical procedures as ordered by the provider(s) in a timely manner, I also performed patient appointment scheduling and referral coordination. I reviewed patient's my chart messages and communicated with patients and/or providers as necessary to provide timely and accurate solutions to patient's concerns/needs in order to provide exceptional patient care. I was also responsible for nurse visits to give provider approved/pre-ordered birth control injections, immunizations and blood pressure checks, upon completion of the nurse visits I was responsible for the charge capture and documentation of performed procedure(s) which I then forwarded to the appropriate provider for electronic signature, I was responsible for the e-rx with Epic EHR according to practice/provider protocols. I was responsible for scanning patient records,forms into their electronic chart. I also faxed forms,orders,rx's as necessary once approved by the provider then scanned the forms, rx's or orders along with fax receipt into patient's electronic chart. In addition to the aforementioned duties I was also responsible for performing all other duties/tasks necessary to provide exceptional patient care while strictly adhering to PHI, HIPPA and OSHA Regulations.
