Vendor Technical Manager / Product Manager – Verizon PE – Contract Work

As the Technical Vendor Manager, I was responsible for working closely with Verizon's Vendors (such as Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto and Versa, etc.) to maintain current and long-term relationships. My focus was on code releases, bugs/defects, enhancements, and feature requests for Verizon. Reviewed and updated Lifecycle Management practices and identified gaps for remediation and streamlining processes. I ran regular meetings with the Vendors, TAC, additional engineers, and our own internal teams, I drive resolution on Platform/SW bugs and issues, enhancements, and field problems. I developed a trusted and transparent relationship with the vendors and internal teams to provide outstanding Client Experiences. I was responsible for creating and maintaining the Vendor logs, conducting regular Vendor Touchpoint meetings and status on all tasks and issues, and communicating relevant data to Verizon's internal Performance Teams, application engineers and testing teams. Working with US-based and Canadian locations, my responsibilities focused on the successful implementation of new security measures, mill network standardization, and on/offsite back-up tracking to reduce downtime caused by network failure or invasion. I maintained accurate financials regarding the purchasing of equipment and vendor services for overall network upgrades to the Mills across multiple spreadsheets. Charged with the creation and maintenance of site data for the PMO and Executive Management reporting was a critical piece of implementation. Necessary hardware/software for each mill is determined by working with site IT teams and network architects. I interacted frequently with multiple vendors for Procurement and the implementation of security measures (Hardware/Software/Testing). I also developed and maintained project plans (scheduling, mill budget, RACI for team members, and ensure tasks are completed, risks are identified and remediated, and determine / plan travel dates for implementation teams. Communication to all involved parties on multiple mill status meetings including monitoring the platform objectives to keep project on track, meet objectives, and stays under budget. I documented and communicated the plan status, addressing concerns or questions, and post meeting minutes in a timely fashion and to appropriate parties. I developed and deployed new/improved process and templates.

Achievements:

Responsible for successful implementation of the CommVault and Simplivity Security measures for all corporate mills. This included initial contract negotiations, working with 3rd party vendors for policy and process, configurations, ordering and shipping of the nodes, scheduling pilot testing, and corporate wide roll-out scheduling.
