PROJECT DETAILS
• Novel Use of Hybrid Nanoparticles Additives for Improved Properties of Lubricant in Turning Operation. This project illustrates how important it is to expand our knowledge about coolant supply into the cutting zone. Coolant types, composition, nozzle design and flow rate can influence process productivity, work piece quality and tool wear considerably. MQL (Minimum Quantity Lubrication) technique used to the minimized amount of coolant for cooling and lubrication. It provides the sufficient amount of lubrication to prevent the generation of heat. The nano fluid provides the effective cooling and lubricating in the MQL machining process. After multiple tests carried by varying percent of compositions the difference on the cutting force, temperature, and surface roughness was observed. The result shows that the temperature remains low compared to other lubrication techniques and giving a better surface roughness on the work piece. STRENGTHS
