Support families through the anticipatory grief and post-death bereavement processes, serving as liaison to the patient and family's community of faith.

Provide patients, families, and caregivers with an affirming presence utilizing non-judgmental listening, advocacy, and focused discussions of spiritual issues and possible resolutions. Provide education regarding hospice, spiritual care, death and dying, grief and bereavement, and living in the face of death.

Provide palliative care for patients, focusing on specialized medical care to provide relief from pain and other symptoms of serious illnesses.

Serve as part of the hospice team, providing care and comfort to ensure quality of life for individuals with serious illnesses who are approaching the end of life.
