Corporate Compensation and Benefits Manager/Human Resources Business Partner 2006- 2014 United Methodist Homes of New Jersey – Neptune, NJ Assisted living, and skilled nursing communities, as well as, affordable housing located in NJ. There is a total of 5 full-service communities and five affordable housing employing close to 1200 associates. Reporting to the VP of HR for two and half years and becoming interim VP of HR reporting directly to the President and CEO. Three full time Corporate HR associates reported to position along with five dotted line HR Directors at each full-service community report to the position. Initially, responsible for all ten communities and the Corporate Office for compensation and benefits and then for all aspects of Human Resources in a union and a non-union environment.

Selected Accomplishments:

•Responsible for benefits for the entire organization including: Medical, Dental, 403 B, Life Insurance, Vision, Supplemental Life and EAP and the selection of three new brokers.

•Saved $682,000 with the implementation of a new health plan, more consumer driven that included an HRA.

•Created new compensation plan from scratch. Surveyed 11 companies and wrote 88 job descriptions. Saved $250,000 in streamlining the process and paying market rates.

•Developed 58 new HR Polices and forms and placed them on a web-based communication system so all associates and new hires can view and sign off they reviewed.

•Determined best HRIS system to utilize and training HR associates to implement the new systems to streamline processes and minimize paperwork.

•Responsible for strategic plan and initiatives supporting best practices and goals in HR for the next five years.

•Work on operational budgets, departmental budgets and understand of allocations of expenses and profit and loss impact to the bottom line.

Reporting to the President, this position was responsible for creating a new culture that was team based focusing on customer satisfaction, reduced costs, and increased quality. Accountable for over 100 teams and two trainers and 25 facilitators. Awarded NJ Grant for training and saved millions of dollars in cost reduction and quality improvement techniques.

Selected Accomplishments:

Strategically initiated, directed, and implemented an entire global quality initiative for the company to enable it to be more competitive and become certified to ISO quality standards.

Managed a staff of 2 trainers and a coordinator for responsibilities of all training and documentation associated with the Comar quality initiative. Focused on six sigma, problem solving and continuous process improvement.

Established over 100 teams working on reducing costs, addressing safety issues, and improving productivity. Saved millions of dollars.

Worked with the state of New Jersey to receive training grants to assist with the cost of implementing the change effort.
