Objective:

Seeking a medical assistant or front desk position that will enable me to utilize my extensive educational background and outstanding customer service skills. I have worked in orthopedics for over 5 1/2 years with a highly skilled spine surgeon. I am also very familiar with sports medicine, osteoporosis, and pain management. Prior to this position, I worked as a server/bartender, shift, supervisor and bar manager, which duties included, scheduling, liquor, inventory, and financing.

Skills:

Patient history and charting/vitals/injections/urinalysis. Phlebotomy knowledge, including centrifuge machine, performing venipunctures, and blood cultures. Suture/staple removals, wound care, including dressing changes. Performing 12 lead EKG. HIPAA/OSHA/quality and infection control along with blood-borne pathogens. Preparing and maintaining examination and treatment areas. BLS certification within the past three months. Compounding medications (sterile and non-sterile) along with dosage conversion. I am extremely well-versed in medical terminology, glucose monitoring, and point of care testing. trained in casting, DME fittings and assisting in minor surgical spinal procedures. (Kyphoplasty) and closing the incision. Familiarity with EMR, scheduling appointments and customer services. I also performed an externship with a foot/ankle surgeon for certification. Phone room, customer service and scheduling experience.
