● Working as a subcontractor employee, and finally as an employee of the company itself, wrote and revised reactor and equipment operating procedures for operations department personnel at a tw-unit pressurized water reactor (1800 MW each) electrical power plant

(Point Beach Nuclear Plant).

● Drafted operating procedures using manufacturer technical manuals, field walkdowns, and personnel interviews, ensuring all technical, safety, and regulatory requirements were addressed. Revised procedures following reviews by operations and technical department personnel. Sponsored procedures through upper management review and approval attending Plant Safety Board reviews to answer and address management questions or concerns.

JUNE 1995 - SEPTEMBER 1997

Department of Energy Oak Ridge National Laboratory - Subcontract Nuclear Operations Specialist

● Advised the Procedures Manager for operations department personnel at a uranium remediation and cleanup facility (Y12).

● Performed supervisory duties for a department of 35 writers.

● On a separate project, performed technical and editorial reviews for a final safety analysis report written for two separate gaseous diffusion sites (K-25 located in Kentucky and Portsmouth located in Ohio)

● Wrote and revised equipment operating procedures for operations department personnel at two of the site’s five production reactors (K & L-reactors). May 1984 - JUNE 1991

● Wrote and revised reactor and equipment operating procedures for operations department personnel at a two-unit pressurized water reactor electrical power plant. (Turkey Point Nuclear Plant, Units 3 & 4, 2 x 800 MW, near Homestead, Florida)

Detroit Edison - Subcontract Quality Assurance Specialist 4

● Wrote and revised audit and surveillance procedures for QA personnel at a two-unit electrical power plant, working on the BWR/4 Mark 1 boiling water reactor (Fermi-2 1200 MW) site under construction at that time.The Fermi-1 fast breeder reactor was already decommissioned at that time.

Mississippi Power & Light - Quality Assurance Specialist

● Wrote and revised audit and surveillance procedures for QA personnel at a one-unit boiling water reactor electrical power plant (Grand Gulf Nuclear Station) under construction at that time. Unit one went operational at 1440 MW in 1985. Unit 2 construction was abandoned in 1979.

Georgia Power Company - Plant Operations

● Operated plant equipment and performed reactor operations required to run a two-unit boiling water reactor electrical (2 x 880 MW) power plant.

● Attended one year of full time training and underwent two levels of successful testing to become licensed by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission to operate the reactors at this plant location (Plant Edwin I. Hatch, Baxley, GA) and to supervise reactor operators there.
