A family-owned company in the Pacific Northwest serving our own handcrafted beer, wine, cider, spirits and coffee alongside good, honest pub fare since 1983. Steeped in art, history and a sense of place, locations range from neighborhood pubs to historic hotels where live music and history talks are the norm, and soaking pools, movie theaters and other fun prevail.

CORPORATE HOTEL ACCOUNTING MANAGER (2020 to Present) - Leading a team of 7 direct reports consisting of Hotel Accounting Supervisors and Accounting Assistants, and reporting into the Corporate Controller. Lead the multi-state accounting functions for 7 hotels and the multiple venues at each location ($70M+), consisting of Anderson School Hotel in Seattle, WA; Elks Temple in Tacoma,WA; Olympic Club in Centralia, WA; Kalama Harbor Lodge in Kalama, WA; Kennedy School Hotel in Portland, OR; White Eagle Saloon Hotel in Portland, OR; and Gearhart Hotel in Gearhart, OR. Travel to and from each site throughout the month. Highlights of Accomplishments:

Developed and implemented improved hands-on cash handling processes, including Standard Operating Procedures for all restaurant, bars and venues at each location across OR & WA.

Hired and developed Accounting Assistants that have successfully moved up in the organization and have become Accounting Supervisors to Senior Accountants at McMenamins Corporate.

During COVID, rapidly transitioned onsite accounting staff and developed remote processes.

Organization was attacked by ransom ware/hackers. To prevent payment, and in collaboration with FBI, led my team to process over 700 tickets a day, per location and rebuilt systems from scratch.

HOTEL ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR (Aug 2001 to 2005) - In support of the Kennedy School Hotel in Northeast Portland. Primary responsibilities included, but were not limited to General Ledger Accounting and Financial Reporting for the hotel and all restaurants and bars. General Ledger functions include compiling and reconciling financial data from various point-of-sale systems, reviewing all financial data for the month, balancing the bank account and preparing and posting monthly and annual journal entries in a timely manner. Additional responsibilities include managing and overseeing the Hotel Accounting Assistant’s Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, as well as managing cash on hand for the property. Other duties as assigned by the Corporate Hotel Accounting Supervisor, Chief Accounting Officer and the Property Manager.

STAFF ACCOUNTANT, Environmental Fibers International, Portland, OR (2000 to 2001)

EFI has been serving the Portland area’s commercial recycling needs since 2001, and are proud to be one of the largest locally owned and operated recycling companies in the Northwest.

Maintained financial records (AR/AP/GL) and ensured that financial transactions were properly recorded. Ensured the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles ledger accounts in the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports. Assisted in analyzing current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenditures. Highlights:

General ledger process related to month end close, entering journal entries, account reconciliations, master data (chart of accounts, cost center, profit center), fixed asset accounting and intercompany accounting.

Completed month end entries and financial statement submission by deadlines, and reconciliations in accordance with company policy and regulatory compliance.

Provide timely and accurate reporting and analyses, and participated in and provide support for internal and external audits.

Reviewed and posted journal entries, ensuring each entry fully supported.
