• Perform boretrack on presplit holes especially on the angled presplit.
• Analyse and recommend appropriately per data from the boretrack.
• Design and simulate tie-in plan or timing sequences (electronics and non-electronics).
• Application of blast monitoring equipment like the instantel and video cameras to monitor blast.
• Track drill consumables and perform monthly reports on them.
• Track and review magazine stocks to know the available quantities for the weeks ahead.
• Conduct cycle time analysis on MMU trucks and present on their performance weekly. Supervisor Trainee
• Lead PSI meeting to review the activities of the previous day.
• Always ensure safety by identifying all the possible risks and putting all the respective critical controls in place.
• Communicate job tasks to the team and ensure they have proper knowledge, tools and skills to do the job safely.
• Position drill rigs to ensure holes are drilled out in an optimum and a safe way.
• Ensure colleagues’ concerns are addressed in a prompt, respectful and constructive manner. 2
Acting Shotfirer
• Position MMU trucks on the pattern in a way that will facilitate easy and fast charging.
• Transport explosives from the magazine to the bench.
• Ensure that the stemming loader stems each hole well.
• Implement the tie in plan for both electronic and non-electronic connections.
• Ensured that the pit is cleared for blast and after blast.
• Always ensured safety in every work assigned to me. QA/QC Engineer
• Ensure drilling and blasting is done to engineering specifications.
• Prepare the blastholes by measuring the depth with a tape measure.
• Ensure that the explosive product (emulsion) conforms to the standards (Gassing rate, bucket and cup densities).
• Perform QA/QC by entering the actual depth into the Blast IQ for necessary backfill or re-drill.
• Liaise with blast technicians and the MMU operators to perform QA/QC on the explosives charge that’s pumped into each hole.
• Weekly report on QA/QC information.
• Liaise with drilling supervisors to find optimum ways of minimizing both under-drills and over- drills.
