Under ARAMCO, BAPCO, Sirth Oil Company, Cairn Energy for various type of projects such as Refinery Construction Site & upgrade projects, Cross Country Pipeline Projects, Offshore Platforms Prefabrication Yard,Piping Prefabrication Shop Big Bore and Small bore,Valves Pressure Testing Shop Control Valve and Mechanical Valve etc.In these all above projects I have been worked as a Client IPMT,PID QA/QC Welding/Piping Inspector,Welding/Painting Inspector, QA/QC Welding/Painting Consultant,QA/QC Supervisor. Reviewing and approving Contractors and Subcontractors Inspection & Test Plans, quality Control Procedures and testing procedures.

Conducting regular site walk-throughs with fabrication yard management team to highlight quality and safety issues and identify areas for improvement.

Reviewing and validating tests results related to inspection points

Reviewing and approving project and contractor quality documents and quality personnel

Welding Procedure Specification (WPS)/Procedure Qualification Record (PQR)/Weld Plans Review of Material Test Certificate (MTC) and issuing Dispatch Instruction (DI) clearances.

Monitor all site and fabrication yard welding activities and ensure that all welding joints were welded as per approved WPS’s.

Checking the purging requirement for SS and Alloy steel pipe. Also, to check purging gas type (mostly argon gas is used for purging), purging gas pressure/flow rate.

To check the root faces for visual defects and verify that inter-run cleaning is done for the removal of slag.

Checking of size and type of electrodes used, if they are according to the WPS or not.

Making sure the weld area should be properly covered by using a fire blanket or other means.

Verifying inter-pass temperatures, that do not exceed the level as mentioned in the WPS. (Infrared thermal gun is used to measure the Inter-pass temperature).

Checking weather conditions, if there is heavy wind or rain welding should not be carried out.

Observing welding conditions for root run/hot pass and all subsequent run, and inter-run cleaning.

Checking welding processes and all related variable parameters. (voltage, amperage, travel speed, etc.)

Witness all contactors’ welders’ qualification tests and evaluate their visual and NDT results.

Witness all site or fabrication yard NDT daily activities, carry out interpretation for test results, and evaluate the finding outs.

Visual inspections of weld joints for Piping, Pipeline, Structural. Inspection of Materials and Consumables, Valves Hydro testing, Post Weld Heat Treatment [PWHT]. Report daily to QA/QC Coordinator/ Engineer and advise him on the main contractor compliance to contract procedures and standards and any matters effecting quality.

Roles and Responsibilities (Painting/Insulation)

Review and understand the requirement of the project Coating & Insulation Specifications,ITPs,QCPs,MS etc.

Inspection & Testing of the in-progress work to ensure compliance with the project specification requirements.

Ensure effective implementation of ITPs or ITRs by the contractor and client attendance at witness and/or hold points.

To provide technical supports to company and contractors QC personnel as required.

Ensure all personnel employed are Skilled and passed the Qualification Test and performing proper surface preparation, Coating Application and Insulation Installation.

Reviews and assesses Contractor/Subcontractor QA/QC Plans and Procedures including Test/Inspection results.

Ensure contractor/subcontractor have relevant, up-to-date Codes, Standards, Specs, and Contract documents.

Ensure all the Testing Equipment’s functioning properly and have Valid Calibration.

Preparing Disposition Plan for any Non-Conformances occurred during ongoing works and Technical Support in order to reply Site Technical Queries.

Promotes Safety awareness and safe performance among Production group, including Contractor personnel.

Witness and monitor Contractor/Subcontractor site surveillance QA/QC activities.

Conversant with Inspection Techniques such as Surface Cleanliness/Profile check, Soluble Salt Test, WFT & DFT Checks, Adhesion test, MEK Test, Holiday Detection Test etc... As per the industry standards.

Prepare punch list items, ensuring they are being resolved according to the turnover system.

Overseeing the Development of the Blasting, Painting and Insulation Systems Integrating Quality, Occupational Health/Safety and Environmental requirements.

Reports to the QA/QC Manager or Department Head and prepare Daily, Weekly & Monthly site report, highlighting weekly accomplishments and issues that affect product quality.
