Once the database is created, ensure it is being monitored by Oracle Enterprise manager grid control tool or other industry standard monitoring tools available, ensure that the notifications are configured, so that the team gets notified if there are metrics breaching threshold

Configure the standby databases in a different datacenter, according to business requirements and applicable licenses i.e., for Business which requires querying to be offloaded from primary database, active data guard can be configured at the additional license pricing, for all other requirements mounted physical standby database can be configured.

For high critical databases, inform the Business about the necessity of having data guard broker, as it can failover the primary database without manual intervention to desired standby database in case the primary database is unavailable, and it decreases the database downtime.

Configure the backup jobs for the database using a standard scheduling tool like autosys or enterprise manager grid control, and configure the notifications/alerts incase if any the job fails.

Upgrade the database and clusterware to latest versions and also patch them to keep up with the latest critical patch updates and avoid issues proactively.

Explorer the places in application to improve the performance of all queries by implementing performance stertigies like partition, views, materialized view, adding hints etc.

Decided migration strategy for migrating one RDS DB data to another RDS DB ex: oracle to postgres.
