NOTABLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS

-Data collected, interpreted, and organized during Graduate school, brought awareness to the overuse of plastics and their impact on Marine Organisms. Enabled Statewide Legislation to be put into place to limit the use of

“Single Use” plastics in Coastal SC.

-Data Collected and analyzed at the SCDNR allowed the detection of viral antigens that posed a threat to local marine life before any impact could occur.

-Procedures developed under my Management led to advances in the propagation and management of Quality shellfish grounds in SC. Procedures developed are currently in use by commercial entities.

-All Students in AP courses passed their EOC and received college credit.

-Winner of ESPN’s 2006 “Search for the Ultimate Outdoorsman”, a reality-based hunting/fishing/hosting competition.

Non-Profit Philanthropy

May 2015-February 2017, Preservation Committee Chairman, Johns Island Community Association Managed and coordinated efforts to preserve the UGB (Urban Growth Boundary). Duties include facilitating communication between landowners and county officials and creating land-use strategies to preserve critical habitat. Managed staff of 26 volunteers to aid in the effort. Created press releases and presentations for the efforts. Conducted habitat and runoff assessments to determine Urban Impact. September 2005-August 2008

Host and Producer of the SC Wildlife Television show. Duties included Management of the filming schedule and content. Show was a production sponsored by the SC Dept. of Natural Resources. August 2012-Present, Executive Director, Lowcountry Dolphin Alliance A 501c (3) corporation. Primary duties include conducting research, providing seminars and presentations, at request, to local schools, universities, civic groups and Private clubs. Managed volunteer staff scheduling to collect and interpret data along with coordinating fundraising efforts. May 2008-Present, Wildlife and Habitat Manager, The Golf Club at Briars Creek Serve as the consulting Wildlife Biologist for the club. Responsibilities include consulting on all wildlife matters and Management of the club’s deer herd, turkey flock, and nuisance wildlife. Coordinate Management efforts with club staff. Produce annual population reports and monthly press releases on wildlife matters.
