PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

JEFFERSON COUNTY COMMISSION Birmingham, AL May 2018 – Present Selection Manager, HR Division

Oversee the management and daily execution of approximately 15-20 job classes monthly, and five (5) leadership talent assessment centers annually through a competency-model job simulation process that includes custom-made test development, training, tactical plan execution, and long-term priority planning. Serve as primary communication liaison between division, internal, and external executives.

Deliver strategic and tactical leadership to three teams comprised of a staff of ten (10) to align departmental and organizational goals through motivation, coaching, and promoting a collaborative environment.

Collaborate with leaders of five (5) other functional areas of HR Department − recruitment, learning and organizational development, benefits, HRIS, and employee services to achieve goals and create lean improvement processes.

Balance multiple projects and deadlines to include, assessing priorities, establishing completion schedules, assigning work to subordinate personnel, and tracking and monitoring work progress.

Prior to promotion to Selection Manager in 2018, served as a Senior Assessment and Development Specialist from 2014 to 2018 with responsibilities including: o Leadership of a team of three psychometricians in the development of fair, job-related, valid, and legally defensible employment selection processes across ~ 200 unique job classes. o Development of assessments including situational judgment tests, job simulations, realistic job previews, structured interviews, and multiple-choice exams.

o Review and preparation of technical validation reports detailing activities involved in job analysis and selection procedures, including testing measures (e.g., mean, SD, SEM, correlation, reliability, validity, and p value).
