RELEVANT RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

There are two research projects in which I have been actively involved as GSR in UCSD.

Study of proton radiography data in high energy laser driven experiments at Omega Laser Facility to understand the evolution of ion Weibel instability.

• Analyzed the proton flux images in the interaction region of colliding counter-streaming laser produced plasmas for six different plasma conditions by using an open-source Python script

(Problem solver).

• Carried out Fourier analysis of extracted path integrated magnetic field images to estimate the B- field strength and the dominant wavelength of Weibel instability.

Experimental study of plasma sheath dynamics and neutron production in 4.6 kJ dense plasma focus.

• Performed experiments to study the effect of insulator sleeve length and fill pressure on the production of neutrons, plasma sheath structure and participated in another experimental campaign on the same machine studying the influence of hollow and solid anodes on neutron yield and radiation.

• Also carried out MHD modeling of staged Z pinch using open-source radiation magneto- hydrodynamics code for plasma physics.

ADDITIONAL RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

M. Tech Thesis- Influence of spatial variability of soil on bearing capacity of strip footing under static condition.

• Developed lower bound limit finite element analysis code in MATLAB to generate the finite element meshing of the soil below strip footing.

• Incorporated spatial variability in soil by making the friction angle log-normally distributed random field and dilative coefficient uniformly distributed between 0 and 1 in a frictional soil mass.

• Calculated the bearing capacity factor and probability of failure for different values of statistical parameters of spatial variation in soil.

B. Tech Thesis- Fatigue Assessment of Offshore jacket platform by carrying out simulation in Abaqus software.

• Developed a FEM model of jacket substructure in STAAD. Pro by assigning material and sectional properties.

• Carried low cyclic high stress fatigue analysis to obtain stress, moment, force versus time curves for tubular joints.

RELEVANT COURSES

Graduate Level courses taken in University of California San Diego-Gas Discharge Plasma Physics, Magnetized Hot Plasma Physics, Non-Magnetized Hot Plasma Physics, High Energy Physics, Numerical Methods- Differential Equations, Topics in Engineering Science. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Internship for 8-week duration in Technip India Ltd.

I learned the following things during my training:

• Operation procedure of Barge Entrance, Barge Mooring, Barge de-ballasting during Float-over installation.

• Information about the different load transfer phases of Float-over installation Staff Engineer for 2.5-month duration in Converse Consultants.

I completed the following duties during my job.

• Setting-up projects by coordinating site access with the client, conducting field reconnaissance, marking field investigation locations, notifying underground services alert, and scheduling underground utility locating, traffic control and exploration companies.

• Performing various laboratory tests on soil using industrial standards.

• Processing laboratory tests data using gINT software.

• Evaluating the liquefaction potential on a site.

• Determining allowable soils bearing capacity, static and seismic lateral earth pressures and settlements.

• Assisting with preparing geotechnical and grading reports. TEACHING EXPERIENCE
