Infrastructure Project/ Service Deliver Manager, PMO

A technical project/service delivery manager who has had extensive experience running projects ranging from the mass virtualization of Monterey Counties server infrastructure to the physical movement and installation of a billion dollar size company’s data center (DC). I have over a decade’s experience in running successful projects on time and on budget specifically in the technical infrastructure field. During this time I have also had the opportunity to run large teams on a day to day basis dealing with complex programs that have to adhere to intricate and sensitive data such as the county’s Health Department and HIPPA based programs.

I excel at collaborating closely with my fellow PMO and other departments to further develop established procedures to increase productivity, reporting and project success rates. I am also comfortable to work independently and will take accountability for how my projects are run. I find that my written communication style conveys complex technological plans in a manner that is easy to digest

Was a pivotal member of numerous steering committees for Key Corporate Initiatives. Working with other departments within the business to deliver major projects on time and budget.

Worked with my Manager and Vice President to develop plans and initiatives to deliver smaller tactical projects on time and on budget developing a written communication style that the upper management appreciate and understand.

I am the Case management manager for the IT infrastructure for the company

Presented weekly updates on all my ongoing and upcoming projects up to the VP-level stakeholders. I would cover the timeline, budget, and risk of the project along with mitigation strategies.

Planned, designed and executed the physical move of the companies DC from the current HQ to the recently purchased offices.

Planned and executed our companies first disaster recovery test in over a decade using SRM and many out of date and unsupported bespoke systems and triaging any major risks

Outsourced our in house print services to a third party saving the company tens of thousands a month on equipment leasing, inventory housing and manpower.

Planned and oversaw an $8M modernization plan that included establishing a presence in AWS with our new Synergy Hybrid Storage array, refreshing our PURE storage arrays, and upgrading our Rubrik backup system to compensate with the new infrastructure.

Planned and executed the security development of our new virtual authentication service, taking it from a five step manual process to a one step biometric response leading to less confusion for the end user increasing our cybersecurity protection

I am the main point of contact for our multiple System Integrator and Database Architect partners who i worked with on our debugging efforts for our new billing, claims and policy centrer management system.

Lead the effort for a laptop upgrade project where I used focus groups, surveys and interviews to develop an online scheduling tool that would make the transition of data and hardware as seamless as possible for the end user

Lead the modernization of our RFP process, standardizing it across all departments.

Monterey County Information Technology Department

11/2017 to 11/2021

Service Delivery Manager – Monterey, California

Clients Included: Health department, Social Services, Child Support Services, Sheriff/911 and all other County departments.

Managed a team of 20 direct reports that had experience ranging from desktop technician to our top-level architects. I was responsible for identifying areas of modernization, researching the solutions, allocating the correct resources and then authoring the timeline plan, budget and execution stages of the upgrade.

My team developed and ran the modernization off all 220+ bare metal county servers to a hybrid cutting edge VMWare Nimble back end. This was a difficult task on paper, we had an extra layer of difficulty to navigate whilst handling the data as we had stringent HIPPA, Law Enforcement and Social Services procedures to adhere to.

Organized and executed the training of all team members on the new tech stacks prior to their implementation.

My team oversaw our DC environment and implemented social and physical changes to make the environment more robust e.g. No Drinks in the DC, multiple redundant air-condition units, the consolidation of rack space to shrink the footprint of the DC to save on power and maintenance costs.

Researched, planned, and ran my annual multimillion dollar budget based on Gap Analysis and weakness detected throughout the prior year.

Ran the architecture team to develop and execute multiple roadmaps to drive the counties technology stack forward. Examples of this would be facilitating and developing our newly installed Service Now suite and to aide in its process automation.

My team identified current threats and weaknesses in the county and move swiftly to rectify them such as running audits on the counties departments technology stacks to identify potential attack vectors.

My team ran the effort to get the County off tape backup system that was decades old to a hybrid cloud and onsite virtual back up system called Commvault. I also personal worked with departments such as Health to communicate the Recovery Time Capability (RTC) and the Recovery Time Objective (RTO) to meet their standard in case of an attack/ransom.

Be the main point of contact for all the Counties departments.

Provide leadership and guidance to all Department and Enterprise Architect analysts to meet the director’s goals, vision, and mission statement.

Own and manage multiple contracts and be the liaison with our division's vendors.

My team implemented and managed the integration of the Child Support Department and Laguna Seca Raceway under the departments direct control. This led to massive leaps in the networking and computing technology at both sites.

My team established the remote worker protocol for when the pandemic hit, this meant mass purchasing of laptops, their installation and delivery. Procuring contracts, training, and hardware so mass meetings, such as The Board of Supervisors meetings, could still take place with little to no loss of in person functionality (Q/A, document presentations etc)
