Summary of Education and Practice Experience

I am Etsegenet Asibe a graduate of MA degree in Leadership and Management and a graduate of BSW degree in Social Work from Addis Ababa University. I have over ten year’s practical experience with NGOs as part of the requirements for the completion of BSW Degree in Social Work. I have described details of my training and consultancy experiences in the following paragraphs: 1. From October 11, 2022 up to March 5, 2024 up to now partnership and capacity building coordinator, Gender, PSEA and safeguarding focal person and a member of Wash technical working group on the concept of inclusion.

2. From November 11\2019 up to October 11,2022, Gender, youth and Inclusion Head at Federation of Ethiopian Associations of person with Disabilities,PSEA and safeguarding focal person and worked on mainstreaming gender equalities on different organizational policies and projects and doing Gender Audits

3. From November 10, 2016 through May 10, 2017 Awareness and Mobilization Officer at District Women and Children Affairs office.

4. From 7/8/2016 through November 10, 2016 Officer of HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control at District 05 Women and Children Affairs Office.

5. November 11, 2015 through 6/8/2016 Advisor and Chairperson of women, youth and Children office and chairperson of women league at a district level WoCA office. 6. November 10, 2013-November 10, 2015 Worked as Advocacy and Nurture Officer at District 12 Women, Children and Youth Affairs Office.

7. I have worked with the capacity of data collector for Yekokeb Berhan HVC project national survey that was conducted by The School of Social Work at Addis Ababa University in collaboration with Boston University. Accordingly, I have collected field data from three cities: Addis Ababa, Hawassa, and East Gojam (Debre Markos). The data collection has helped me to acquire skill on interviewing research participants, taking observation notes, organizing the notes and reporting to the survey supervisor. Upon the completion of the field data collection, I was involved in the verbatim transcription and analysis of qualitative data. 8. I have been placed for one month field work at Hiwot HIV/AIDS Prevention, Care and Support Organization at Akaki Kaliti Sub-city project site in 2009/10. I have worked in the care and support of People Living with HIV/AIDS with close supervision and coaching of Community Nurses. The activities included, House-to-House visit to bedridden patients, counseling the patients and family members, checking ART adherence, advising them to keep personal hygiene and environmental sanitation, and writing comprehensive report about my services both to the organization and to my school.

9. I have been placed for one month field work at Hiwot HIV/AIDS Prevention, Care and Support Organization in 2010/11 at Nifas Silk Lafto Sub-city and worked in the support of Highly Vulnerable Children (HVC). With the supervision and coaching of the project officer, I have participated in the monitoring of children’s school performance, gave tutorial support, learned about economic support programs i.e. Income Generating Activities (IGA) of the children’s Etsegenet Asibe, Curriculum Vitae 2024

parents particularly urban agriculture, Self Help Groups, and attended meetings of local communities who are providing support to the children. 10. I have been placed for one month field work at St. Paul Hospital in 2011/2012. There is a Social Work Unit in the hospital where I was assigned to work with a senior Nurse who is serving as a social worker in the hospital setting. The poorest of the poor patients are referred to the unit by the doctors to give them counseling, to look for resources and link the clients with organizations who provide financial and material supports.

11. I have been placed for one month at OPRIFS where sexually abused and exploited children are getting residential care. I have participated in the filling out of background data and assessment of the needs of abused children, providing tutorial support, counseling the children, distributing educational and other materials, following up of their health care, compiling data on their parents/guardian’s information, taking the children to health care centers with the project officer, writing my activities and observation reports. I have made daily observation and process records that was eventually compiled and submitted to the organization and to the school with my critical reflection on the observed activities.

12. At last I participated on Promote and Create Access on Sexual Reproductive Health Information, Knowledge and services on the prevention and management of sexual and gender based violence program (SGBV)
