Skilled Operation & Maintenance Technician with 20 years’ experience in Power Generating and Marine Propulsion Gas Turbine Plant systems. Strong experience in electrical and mechanical control system maintenance, troubleshooting and repair. Familiar with General Electric Gas Turbine Engines LM2500 Series and Rolls Royce 501K-34 Generator sets including associated control equipment.

Quality Test Technician

Install, connect and set up test equipment. Operate, troubleshoot and perform production and first article static and dynamic tests on engines, gas compressors, packaged systems, control consoles, subassemblies, components, and accessories in test beds, cells, or fixtures.

Install, level, set up, prepare, and operate any Solar or OEM gas turbine, diesel engine, gas compressor, driven equipment, packaged system, control console, microprocessor control, subassembly, component, and/or accessory in test cells, fixtures or in special test beds.

Connect test equipment: harnesses, simulators, filters, lines, dynamometers, slave generators, instrumentation, and other equipment necessary to the test operation.

Conduct test run and final performance acceptance test of gas turbines and gas compressors

Connect and operate computerized data acquisition systems for package system, gas turbine, and gas compressor performance testing.

Observe, record, and review test data. Calculate operational parameters such as horsepower, pressure ratio, fuel flow, specific fuel consumption, oil flow, oil consumption, electrical functions, power factors, and other parameters related to the acceptability of the unit under test.

Conduct vibration surveys and trim balance components, as required, utilizing real-time vibration analyzers, trim balance analyzers, vibration tape recorders, and plotters.

Troubleshoot to isolate indicated malfunctions and discrepancies.

Make operational adjustments to engines, accessories, controls, and test equipment, including realignment.

Perform necessary rework to correct the cause of malfunctions and bring performance within specified operating parameters. Remove unit from the test facility

UNITED STATES NAVY Jan 2003 – Feb 2023 Chief Gas Turbine System Technician (Electrical)

●Preformed QA checks points to ensure compliance.

●Worked closely with North-Grumman Shipbuilding to resolve production issues, provided invaluable operator perspective when necessary.

●Monitored the initial start-up of the ships General Electric LM2500 and Roll Royce 501K34 (AG9140RF) Gas Turbines.

●Trained the initial Engineering crew that met and /or exceeded every qualification requirement.

●Operated engine control system, electrical generator, and electrical plant control from remote and local operating stations or switchboard; performed maintenance and checks-out procedures on power supplies, engineering control system, and generator control units; identified equipment casualty to system, subsystem and circuits in gas turbine control equipment

●Tested, repaired or adjusted and alarm indicating system, analyzed samples of oil, fuel and water for quality assurance; detected and treated corrosion, monitored and minimized pollution, maintained inventory; ordered supplies and equipment

●Inspected, identified and replaced faulty components, performed preventive and corrective maintenance on Gas Turbine Engines and associated equipment

●Interpreted and maintained files of publication, directive, manuals and catalogs

●Prepared and maintained quarterly schedules, summaries, and performance logs; monitored and analyzed system performance logs, estimated time and materials necessary for repairs of gas turbine, gas turbine control and auxiliary system; analyzed discrepancy trends, determined deficiencies, and developed inspection and corrective procedures; inspected installed and repairer of equipment performed by outside activity
