SUMMARY:

Global Trading Operations: Trade processing and confirmation from front to back-end with daily trading volume of over $1 Billion, P&L reporting, cash and fail trade management for institutional accounts (mutual funds, hedge funds and separately managed accounts). Corporate Actions: Voluntary (Tender & Exchange Offers, DRIPS, Rights, Subscriptions), Mandatory (ROC, Splits, Conversion, Bonus Issues, Mergers, Spin-offs, Warrants &Rights).

Collateral Management: Movement of collateral for long and short funds including derivatives.

Global Settlements: Fed/DTC, Euroclear, Clearstream, Crest and local markets. Risk associated with claims including TMPG.

Network Management: Inform investment teams of changes, ensure proper documentation and SSI are in place for FX executions and withholding tax processing in over 50 countries, management of risk at the time of conversion. Maintain relationships with various sub custodians /global custodians. Knowledge of 17f5 and 17f7.

Cash &Foreign Exchange Management Operations: Settlement and Clearance of Spot and Forward contracts, confirmation, netting and cash movements via SWIFT, Fed wire, CLS, DTCC, CHIPS and ACH; process control enhancements.

Operational Risk Management: Cash and position reconciliation, Management of TBA Pools, netting, notional values, 48 hour notification, assignments, trade compliance, coordination of functions with internal and external auditors, interaction with IT group to improve STP efficiency through automation to manage risk.

Derivatives Operations: Swaps, futures, options.

Securities Borrowing and Lending: Coordination with internal trading desk, Prime Brokers and external finders to locate securities and avoid buy-ins, negotiation of rebates and fees.

Investment Accounting: Currency exposure, income and expense accruals, pricing and performance measurement.

Vendor (TPA) Management: Fund administrators, custodians, fee schedule negotiation and vendor search and selection.

Metrics Management: Point person for all operational issues pertaining to the firm’s investment activities, implementation of cost control measures to achieve budgetary goals, provision of monthly metrics to senior management.

Management: Oversight of all departmental processes and procedures to ensure functions are performed in a timely and accurate manner; coordination of coverage and cross-training within team members, and development of future talent in securities operations.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Redefined processes and internal controls which markedly reduced failed trades from over 7% to < 0.5%.

Streamlined foreign exchange process to reduce overdrafts and counterparty claims.

Reduced write-offs by over 99%.

Reduced bank and other 3rd party charges dramatically from 25% to < 0.25% by consistent volume increases.
