Accomplishments
Consistently promoted to positions of increased responsibility and visibility. At Kroger:
Began working at a ground level, entry position.
Promoted 2 times within 18 months to Grocery Manager, far exceeding the normal 5 to7-year progression to this position.
Currently manage night operations at the Plano District store. Oversee inventory for the frozen, dairy and grocery departments, which produce $100K in revenue per day.
Directly supervise up to 7 employees, nighttime store safety and security, vendors, truck delivery and nightly inventory replenishment. Responsible for indirect leadership of an additional 14 employees.
Improve efficiency. Support business growth. As a Grocery Manager for Kroger:
Supported store growth, increasing inventory replenishment by 257% in just over 3 years.
Ensure that all trucks are unloaded, and the store is restocked daily despite low staffing levels. Support maximum sales opportunity through consistent product availability.
Establish high business continuity. Quickly resolve problems with vendors, inventory, personnel, power outages, attempted robberies and employee shortages due to vacation & illness. Ensure the store is open and available for customers 24x7.
Manage inventory, oversee quality, reconcile variances and forecast needs.
Work with major vendors including Coke, Dr. Pepper and Mrs. Bairds. Make sure their products receive agreed upon shelf space and attractive display for in store marketing.
Ensure work processes are organized and effective. In the U.S. Marines:
Assigned to a base in Fort Worth, TX, in I Level Ordinance responsible for the construction and repair of bombs, missiles and bomb racks.
Identified an abandoned area of bomb racks in disrepair. The racks contain all the mechanical, electrical and computerized functions required to safely store and eject bombs on an aircraft.
On own initiative, analyzed the racks, identified issues and repaired 100% of the racks within 6 months. Researched solutions.
As a result, helped to increase the squadron level efficiency from 46-82%.
Awarded a “Meritorious Unit Citation”.
Because of high quality and dependability, pilots consistently requested my racks for their aircraft.
