Served as Resident Manager of Clark Estate (a.k.a Bellosguardo), a historic, 24-acre beachfront private property. Directly responsible for managing daily operations, staff training and supervision, supervising system installations, bookkeeping, expense report preparation, payroll preparation, developing fire safety and security plans, annual budget preparation, creating job descriptions for staff positions, vendor sourcing and negotiation, staff performance evaluation, and handling a wide variety of special projects. Selected Accomplishments and Initiatives:
Managed a large-scale private property maintenance operation which consistently met all owner expectations.
Played a key role in completing a historic designation of principal buildings on premises, a beachfront property located in El Pueblo Viejo, a historic architectural area in Santa Barbara.
Successfully negotiated relocation of city-permitted hang/para glider landing area from eastern boundary of East Beach below the Clark Estate westward to a safer beachfront landing area.
Assisted in successfully obtaining Coastal Commission permitting and supervised the installation of 1,000-foot coastal rock revetment device to protect coastal bluff along property’s coastal boundary.
Supervised the installation via directional drilling of a new fire hydrant system (five hydrants), as well as a commercial fire sprinkler system in the historic Carriage Barn (1904) on premises.
Assisted in planning and supervising the installation of security systems in each principal residence and selected out- buildings, and implemented upgrades as required over a 35-year period.
Continuously updated landscape maintenance plan and irrigation systems, which resulted in significant reduction in application labor and water costs.
