Direct management of two area managers. Production team includes four salaried supervisors and 200 hourly associates.
Implemented Management Operating System to drive continuous improvement in key operations metrics including labor variance, quality, and production efficiencies.
Reduced hourly staffing by ten percent to maximize labor efficiencies.
Led facility through various project implementations including new computer operating system launch (SAP) as well as new product lines (diced chicken, pepperoni).

2007 – April, 2012 – Operations Manager B. Responsible for turkey deboning operations.
Manage four salaried production supervisors with 184 hourly operations employees. Reduced one salaried headcount in deboning area.
Installed ergonomically designed thigh conveyor system that eliminated two staffing positions and reduced risk.
Additional risk reduction projects include implementing use of ergonomic steels for knife sharpening, 30-minute job rotations, employee-led warm-up exercises, and pneumatic ergonomic stands at the leg processors.
Promote employee engagement through weekly breakfast meetings with new hires, and engagement teams.
2005 – 2007 – Operations Manager B. Responsible for 2nd shift Further Processing operations.
Managed six salaried production supervisors with 254 hourly operations employees.
Installed sizing equipment to sort product and increase rotisserie production in bone-in turkey breast area.
Installed a slide at the ground turkey area that enabled the department to run frozen burgers and family pack ground turkey down the same conveyor with no increase in staffing.
2001 – 2005 – Senior Supervisor (area manager) – 1st shift deboning
Managed three salaried supervisors at the same time providing direct supervision to 42 hourly operations employees. The deboning area had a total of 205 employees.
Traveled to another facility to learn about thigh and drumstick deboning equipment prior to installing in Dayton facility.

Maintained company-wide continuous improvement program working with quality control technicians and USDA inspectors. Required supervising and motivating 6 – 10 hourly employees to complete routine maintenance tasks such as painting, replacing conveyor belts and other minor repairs.
1990 – 1995 – Lead Person (level 2) – 1st shift chiller department
Coordinated activities of 40 hourly production workers in four different areas on a daily basis. Filled in for supervisor for an extended period while supervisory position was vacant. Responsible for employees’ safety, time and attendance records, production data, etc. Reduced department overtime costs during this assignment. Managed performance of several below target employees.
