Building Maintenance Superintendent, Pagosa Springs, CO May 2017-June 2018
I managed two churches and 4-5 buildings overall, from cleaning to heating and cooling to event preparation and safety. Also maintained and ran the company snow plow and other equipment to keep grounds free of snow.
ConocoPhillips, Farmington, NM 2009-2015
Application Support Analyst and projects Solution Integrator for ConocoPhillips in the San Juan Basin of New Mexico, supporting customers with application (ArcGIS, SDE10.1, Geolog, OpenWorks, Petrosys, Petra, Isatis, Fekete, Kappa products, etc.) and hardware issues, license upgrades, and installations. Was in charge of this satellite office's application support tickets via the ServiceNow Help Desk, and sometimes PC hardware issues. Also scheduled and performed application upgrades (Change Management) through ServiceNow (a Help Desk ticketing system). When wearing the Business projects Solutions Integrator hat, I would discuss a proposed project with the customer and problem-solve to come up with the best solution to finish the project with the most efficiency. Examples of each:
Coordinated and problem-solved until a solution for the Petra application latency (this was a big deal because some projects just slowed to almost 0% performance) was achieved in the Farmington, New Mexico office. This exact solution was finally adopted and applied by the Houston corporate office two years later because they could not find any other solution.
Volunteered our business unit and managed the test pilot of the first (global) site to upgrade to SDE
(ESRI’s Spatial Database Engine) version 10.1, which allowed for user authentication credentials to be used when logging into SDE, and resulted in easier database maintenance. This also made user SDE file locking a non-issue. We had to develop, test and run a script to interrogate ArcGIS MXD's and convert them and repair links for the updated SDE 10.0.
Participated in the migration, integration and support of the PODS (Pipeline Open Data Standard) database with ESRI’s ArcGIS9.3 and then 10.1.
Statoil, Houston, TX 2006-2008
Project Data Manager for Statoil company in the Gulf of Mexico region, managing all of their digital data, including ArcGIS lease-mapping, software and hardware, data storage, data synchronization and transfer, and data standardization (within the Landmark LINUX and PC environments). The main data attributes managed were well data (such as location surface and bottom-hole coordinates, directional surveys, associated stratigraphy, and wellbore checkshot surveys), some in real time as the well was being drilled. This position also included yearly presentations to the Data Management teams in Norway, monthly status meetings, training courses, and various meetings throughout the year, often with 3rd party customers.
Quite a few milestones were achieved in the ArcGIS realm. For example, when I first arrived, there was no lease mapping methodology in place and nobody that knew how to do it, including myself. I took ownership and decided to use ArcGIS, with the outcome being accurate and easily updated Gulf Of Mexico Lease status maps with nicely labeled lease history text in each (sometimes multi-) color-coded offshore lease block. Another challenge I remember was using ArcGIS to systematically post seismic lines and shotpoint labels.
