Selected Responsibilities and Accomplishments

Managed all aspects of company function including development of business plans, recruitment, hiring, and training of staff, budgeting, P&L, scheduling work and activities, establishing policies and procedures, procurement of equipment and supplies, client and vendor relations, performance evaluations and motivation of employees.

Took-on the company’s desire to grow through development of several financial tools that analyzed revenue, expenses, operating and net income data needed for the proper due diligence in mergers and acquisitions. Five (5) potential acquisition targets were analyzed with 3 successfully acquired.

Restructured job titles alignment after an acquisition. Partnered with direct reports to analyze each role to determine the appropriate job family and title. New titles were created to better align with the new company. Over 80 job titles were successfully reviewed and adjusted.

Served to troubleshoot an Oracle database defect that was causing customer-used systems to fail resulting in service outages. Partnered with the internal Oracle database support team and engineers at Oracle to review database statistics to determine root cause. Discovered a defect within the database logging language which when corrected eliminated the problem.

Enhanced morale through promotion of a team-based work atmosphere. Provided assignments of increased responsibility along with additional training and challenging performance incentives that encouraged a sense of ownership in the overall operation.

Resolved vendors not being paid through review of the procurement process. Discovered gaps in the process wherein signed vendor contracts were being filed manually and not uploaded into the vendor contract system. The issue was eliminated.

Managed all aspects of 3 major facility build-out projects in Jersey City and Newark, New Jersey. Identified potential commercial real estate sites, negotiated lease and construction agreements as well as coordinating office designs. Managed milestones and successfully completed the 3 new office spaces covering 30,000 sq. ft. within the $60M budget.

Mentored a direct report whose performance was declining. Partnered with Human Resources to discover a significant negative event in the employee’s life was the cause. Implemented a 6-month Performance Improvement Plan (PIP). Come the next performance review, the individual’s performance had improved to previous levels.

Researched best practices and implemented a new Customer Service Quality Program that improved service availability and service key performance indicators (KPI’s). This project focused on the 5 most impactful areas of improvement and creation of 12-month improvement plans. Customer satisfaction improved with the company saving $10M in lost revenue due to service level credits.

Reengineered the monthly invoicing cycle to improve invoice data and eliminate customer complaints due to inaccuracies. Corrected invoicing system data algorithms to align with customer data and contract terms while adding an Account Manager to review customer invoices. Achieved 100% data accuracy in invoicing improving the pre-existing Accounts Receivable balance by over 50%.

Reviewed the data security vendor to determine if a vendor change was necessary. Collected all market security pricing, bond ratings, and corporate action data to compare against what we had. After analysis of over 1,000 individual pieces of data it was determined that an alternate provider’s coverage would be inadequate, so no change was made for this $6M expense.

Organized and led a panel discussion at a company Client Conference in Las Vegas. Identified appropriate industry leaders with assistance from the Marketing Team, reached out and secured 3 of those leaders to join the panel. This panel discussion received an average audience rating of 9 out of 10.

Improved financial strategies through creation of a new tool that would allow department heads to input updated data assumptions and generate 12-month rolling expense forecasts. Trained department heads on use of the application that could now be used to consolidate and report on division-level expense forecasts.

Built the company’s 1st Finance Team to exist in their Investment Services division. Developed the necessary job descriptions and led the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and training of staff. A proactive team of 5 Junior and Senior Financial Analysts resulted.
