PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Bridgestone USA, Lavergne, TN May 2018 – June 2023

Project Manager

(Tire Manufacturing Facility) (Contract thru ResourceTEK)

I have worn many hats since being here at Lavergne.

My first 2 years were spent as the Project Manager on a 6M project demoing and installing a new Mixing Line while simultaneously building a new isle way around the installation site. After choosing the Vendor for the Twin Screw Roller Die and the Batch off Conveyance System, I had many design reviews and trips to the Vendors facilities to manage the Design and Fabrication of the equipment.

After it arrived at Lavergne the Install and final testing took about another 6 months and it has been in production for about 3 years now. The TSR, manufactured in Japan by KSBI (Formerly KOBE).

It is the first of this style ever installed at the Lavergne Facility. It has the Calendars built into the rubber feeding screws to produce the sheets. This is typically a two or three-part operation. The Batch Off, manufactured by MTI in Canton Ohio. It was also a first for Lavergne as it has a Precision Unload (Wigwag) and runs in full automatic with minimal operator intervention.

After completing the new Mixing Line Install successfully, I took over as the Interim Stock Prep Department Engineer for about the next year while waiting for the perspective new hire to complete his training. During this time, I rebuilt two Bias Ply Assembly Machines primarily converting all of the motors to Servos and modifying the older components as required to meet today’s standards. Both for Safety and Efficiency. This task took about another year from start to finish.

I have completed far too many projects to list them all but as well as Capital Projects when required I am constantly working on Kaizen projects to rework or rebuild old equipment as it becomes a problem.

Short term projects innovating some of the existing production equipment as well as Capital Projects to Design/Procure and Install new equipment. These projects are small enough that I can complete my own Design, Detailing and Quoting as well as following the projects thru Fabrication, Assembly and Installation. These Designs were compiled using AutoCAD and Inventor 2016.
