Maintain over 300 Oracle Databases/Web Servers as part of the Navy Exchange Service Command worldwide while working in a DBA Team Environment. Worked closely with DBA team members to help meet project deadlines.

Worked closely with other departments and DBA team to coordinate and implement software installations and upgrades that include Oracle 10.x, Oracle 11g, database environments on AIX, Linux and Windows 2008 Server environments for Development, Test and Production Databases. Studied and helped maintain SQL Server 2005 and 2008 R2 databases, also managed Windows 2003 ReconNet system/database.

IAVA- Oracle Critical Patch Updates (Patch downloads and installations) on a quarterly basis. Coordinate scheduling patch application with departments.

Documentation of steps taken and issues encountered during upgrade of systems during installations.

Government required STIG reviews (Security Technical Implementation Guidelines) checked against Oracle 9i, 10g, 11g and SQL Server 2008 Software and Databases.

Daily health checks of servers/databases including RMAN backups and Export jobs and correcting issues with the daily backup jobs, checking space on server mount points to make sure space requirements are in place for backup files. Tablespace extent errors – running out of space.

Windows 2008 R2 – Oracle 11g installations, SQL Server Management Studio – Creation of user accounts, granting permissions to users that are required for users to be able to perform their job functions. Configure to work with Third Party Vendor software.

On Call – one week off hours support for all Servers and Oracle Databases and users of these systems on a 2 month rotation schedule with my other team members. Remedy Ticket Tracking System– Opened and closed out Change Orders and Incidents as needed and getting appropriate approval to make configuration changes to server and database systems for patching, upgrades or any work done by a dba.
