WORK EXPERIENCE IN ORTHOPEDICS:

August 2017 – present: Senior resident, Deptt. of orthopaedics, AIIMS, New Delhi: Currently working as a senior resident in deptt. of orthopaedics at All India institute of medical sciences, New Delhi, one of the premier institute of the country. My job profile includes:

Independent evaluation and management of patients suffering from orthopaedics affections visiting the out-patient department.

Conducting ward rounds and actively participating in management of patients admitted in orthopaedic wards.

Assisting and independently performing surgeries pertaining to various sub-specialties like arthroplasty, arthroscopy, orthopedic oncology, pediatric orthopedics.

Acting as chief orthopaedic registrar in emergency and trauma departments and managing cases of acute and complex trauma.

Performing and assisting orthopaedic trauma surgeries including diaphyseal fractures, peri-articular fractures, complex polytrauma, pelvi-acetabular trauma and spinal trauma in our dedicated apex trauma centre.

Contributing to academic activities like journal clubs, seminars and clinico-radio- pathological meets.

Co-ordinating with other clinical and para-clinical departments in effecting a holistic management of patients.

January 2014- December 2016: Junior resident, Deptt. of orthopaedics, AIIMS, New Delhi: Worked as an orthopaedic trainee for 3 years at All India Institute of medical sciences, New Delhi which is a premier tertiary care centre in north India. My training and responsibilities included the following aspects:

Rotational posting to various sub-specialties of orthopaedics like arthroplasty, trauma, arthroscopy, peadiatric orthopaedics, oncology and spine surgery.

Management of in-patients in trauma and elective wards, conducting clinical rounds with consultants and participating in bedside academics.

Rotational posting to plastic and reconstructive surgery department and acquiring exposure to procedures like skin grafting and simple reconstructive tissue flaps.

Independently managing patients in outpatient department and learning out-patient procedures.

Receiving and managing acute trauma patients as first contact in a dedicated trauma centre.

Assisting and independently performing surgeries pertaining to various sub- specialties.

Conducting and successfully completing research directed toward thesis dissertation.

Actively participating in academic activities like case presentations, seminars, journal clubs and ortho-radio/ortho-pathology meets on a regular basis.

Accurately diagnose and manage patients attending out-patient department including appropriate history taking, performing accurate clinical examination, ordering and interpreting relevant investigations and formulating a patient specific plan of action.

Acute trauma care in terms of stabilizing an acutely injured patient, prioritizing management and co-ordinating with other trauma specialties to work for survival of the patient.

Performing independent surgeries with confidence and finesse.

Performing orthopaedic trauma surgeries with special interest in peri-articular fracture fixation, non-unions and pediatric trauma.

Performing and assisting adult reconstructive surgeries like hemiarthroplasty, total hip replacement, total knee replacement.
