Functional summary

Thirty plus years’ experience. I started as a Nursing assistant, then became a CAN then an LPN and I have been an RN for over thirty years. A partial list of duties that I have performed include making assignments for the staff, making room assignments for the patients, with the house supervisor when they are being admitted. Job duties: Admission assessments, documenting health history, medication history, patient education, computer charting, placing orders in the computer, also doing the Mar's and 24 hr., chart checks, implementing the doctor’s orders. Starting and maintaining IV access, drips, and maintenance fluids. Wound care, dressing changes, passing medications, and communicating with the Doctors to provide the best care for the patients. Provide help to the patients with their personal hygiene and activities of daily living. Formulating a working care-plan and involving all the departments in the pts care, PT, OT, RT, Lab, X ray, Social Services, and Chaplain Services. I am a very strong advocate for my patients and their families. I have worked as a Staff RN, travel nurse and agency nurse. I can float to Med-Surg, Day Surgery, Telemetry, Oncology, Renal, Neuro, Ortho, Postpartum, or Step Down. Recently I have been an Inpatient physical rehabilitation nurse in an Inpatient physical rehab hospital unit.
