I have had award for employee of the month for my attendance and my hard work and dedication while working in the medical field as a Ward Secretary on the Med Surg 2 / Pediatrics floor where I was responsible for making sure that all the orders were put in for patients as far as testing, blood work, imaging, diet, surgery and discharge orders that the Doctors put in the patients charts. I also have experience with Bookkeeping, inventory of all sale items in the gas station that I use to work at as an Assistant
Manager. My duties also included employee scheduling and payroll, logging in all vendors incoming orders and the dollar amount spent along with the check number and who I gave it too with a copy of their signature scanned in for the home office to see. I was in charge of all store inventory and all store orders placed and the counting of all register tills before and after each shift as well as making the daily deposits to the bank.
After the Pandemic hit and my grandmother passed away, which whom I was taking care of before she passed away, it was hard to find another job and I was out of work for a long time until Hurricane Laura hit Lake Charles La and then My husband and I went down there and started working on the houses with some of his friends doing the roofs and inside remodeling on the houses. Work Experience
Private Caregiver
Caring Companions At Home - Texas, United States
January 2017 to December 2020
Personal Caregiver when a patient was placed on Hospice. Every morning I would make sure to change her from her wet underpants and clothes from night before, give morning bath as well as change sheets for fresh and dry bedding Cook breakfast and help feed her while she watched her morning show on TV Made sure she took her meds at the correct hour and the correct dosage. Get her dressed and ready for any appointments she may have for the day and take her to them and make sure to collect all the literature available as well as print outs the Doctors may have reflecting on the visit for the day so that if needed for any reason we will have them to refer back to for any questions anyone may have about her visit or treatment that day.
Make supper for her and get clothes laid out for bedtime after dinner. Place all laundry in the washer and make sure all is done before going home for the night. Make sure medication is taken properly before bed and that she has everything she needs beside her and she didn't need anything else before I left for the night. Do any shopping that needed to be done as well as run any other errands she needed me to run and go to the bank when asked and pay bills when needed to. I was in charge of her finances, bills, medical appointments, and was to be included in any medical decisions that needed to be made concerning her. Would take into consideration my patients medical as well as mental and emotional state since her diagnosis and do everything I can to make sure she feels special, beautiful, loved, needed, cared for, and that she still has a say in her daily decisions even if it is just on what she is going to where and where it is we were going for our lunch date and I would also take her on special outings when she was feeling up to it and do things to make her feel special as well as included. Cashier
WESTWOOD TRAVEL CENTER - Brenham, Texas, United States January 2010 to December 2016
for the first 3 months, promoted to Shift Leader over 4 other employees for the next 4 months, then promoted to Assistant
Manager with all the responsibilities, and privileges of a General Manager. As Assistant Manager the mandatory duties every morning before opening the store were to start coffee, count lottery scratch offs to make sure the count matched up with the last night's shift, count both register tills to make sure they are with the proper amount of cash and change in the drawer. Run the morning reports for all gas tanks outside and send numbers to the fuel providers. Stock any cigarettes that were not stocked the night before as well as any other items behind the counter so that it will make it easier when time to place store orders. Check in any merchandise that vendors bring in and read back what is on the ticket while the driver points out the item so it shows if we got the item ordered or not. When done I would go and log into the Vendor order books with the receipts and enter in all numbers as well and the drivers information for the delivery and then write a company check to the vendor in the amount of the order and make sure that the check number as well as the amount are entered into the books in order to keep track of all money being paid out.
Make employee schedules by the week and keep track of all hours worked and pay rate for each employee in Quickbooks for Payroll accuracy. I was in charge of and expected to have all my employee's hours for the week completed and submitted into my system by a certain time to ensure there were no issues with anyone's pay amounts or hours.
When it was time to Close the store every night I would make sure that all cash tills were counted down correctly, lottery machines reports and counts were run and everything was shut down for the night and set up for the next morning.
