Plans examiner and Truss designer

My objective is to work in an environment that would both continue to hone my skills as an architect and allow my knowledge in project construction management and communication to grow. I am looking for a place that will carry my career to its end; ideally, I would like be working in an environment with people I enjoy working with, While making enough to be able to retire b in another 5 to 10 years.

SKILLS

I can read Architectural, Electrical, Plumbing, and Mechanical Plans.

I can coordinate the permitting of projects and the drawing of projects.

Creating drawings in AutoCAD.

Working with people on projects to facilitate their completion with the desired outcome in a timely manner.

I understand various common and complex construction practices.

CERTIFICATIONS

Building Plans Examiners and Building Inspectors license. I am currently working on getting my Electrical plans examiner’s license.

09/2008 - 03/2015 Independent Architectural Design -- Drew plans for residential and commercial projects. Some under the direction of

David Batts (Structural engineer).

09/2008 - 03/2015 Custodian - Leon High School -- The economy went down, did custodial work with Leon County to maintain insurance and other benefits while continuing to draw plans for residential and commercial projects.

11/2002 - 01/2008 Architectural Designer - George O’Bregon (Architect) -- Drew both commercial and residential plans and did commercial and residential building inspections for building deficiencies. I also worked with 3 other truss shops during this period doing more truss design.

11/1998 - 06/2001 Truss Designer - Big Bend Trusses -- Designed/sized Beams, Girders, Trusses, and roof and floor framing systems for residential and commercial projects.

11/1996 - 11/1998 Residential Plans Examiner - City of Tallahassee Building Department -- Reviewed residential plans for compliance

with the FBC.

1991 - 1997 Engineering aid - Navy Reserves -- Laid out roads, built block construction and learned land surveying techniques.
