(PQR) & welder performance qualifications (WPQ) as per ASME SEC-IX & AWS D1.1.
My primary task involves conducting comprehensive inspections of received materials to ensure their compliance with purchase orders and project specifications. This involves verifying the material grades, dimensions, and quantities, as well as reviewing the material test certificates ensuring the proper identification and traceability of materials, adherence to codes & standards.
Before commencing any fabrication activities, I ensure to have all the necessary documentation in order and up-to- date. This includes verifying that all approved drawings have the latest revisions with controlled stamped, Inspection Test Plan (ITP) and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) are readily available at site. Furthermore, approved material inspection reports are easily accessible at the site, guaranteeing a smooth and compliant fabrication process.
My role involves overseeing welding activities with a focus on maintaining the highest standards of quality and precision. I am accountable for monitoring and verifying the marking, cutting, and joint fit-up stages, ensuring precise alignment and strict adherence to specifications. Throughout the welding process, I conduct thorough inspections to ensure compliance with project requirements. Once welding is completed, I carry out final dimensional checks and detailed visual inspections of welds to identify any defects or inconsistencies.
Preparation of quality control documents to carefully monitor and maintain production records. This includes the preparation of detailed fit-up reports, weld visual inspection reports, and weld history registers.
