Duties: Design a detailed schedule of patrol assignments (5-9 individuals) using all available information for scheduled events on campus, specific problem areas to be specially watched, outstanding work assignments that need to be completed by each Officer, etc.
Ensure appropriate actions are taken by each Security Officer on the shift in response to emergencies, service calls, safety hazards, equipment failure, policy enforcement, etc.
Ensure incident reports are documented in a timely fashion by all individuals on the shift, including myself. Checking for proper grammar, classification, and completeness.
Evaluate each incident and ensure that Institutional requirements as mandated by the CLERY Information Act are satisfied, including notifications to key Administrators, drafting of crime alerts to the community, sending e-mail notifications to all faculty, staff, and students, etc.
Draft annual Performance Appraisals for all full-time Officers, including periodic progress discussions. Complete biannual evaluations for all Casual Temporaries.
Document unacceptable work performance/behavior of all Security Officers and Parking Lot Attendants on shift following progressive disciplinary procedures defined by Employee Engagement.
Train new Safety & Security Officers, Safety & Security Temporaries, and Parking Lot Attendants on Office and College Policy and routine duties. Organize training sessions to assist officers in responding to various emergencies and situations.
After the close of business, act as the highest representative for Montgomery College during emergencies, keeping key Administrators consulted and advised.
Serve on the search committee for any open Safety and Security Officer position.
Assign Officers to perform Safety and Security Office duties required by the unit, such as maintenance of vehicles, upkeep of medical bags, upkeep of emergency response bags, supervision of Parking Lot Attendants, maintenance of campus traffic appeals board, upkeep of uniform supplies
