BIOGRAPHY – TATIANA BOGOMOLOVA
Tatiana is from Tomsk in Russia. She began playing the piano when she was 6 years old. At age 13 she auditioned and was accepted into a special music school for talented children and during her 4 years there she performed with the Novosibirsk Symphony Orchestra as a soloist, chamber musician and accompanist. At 15 she won the Siberian and Far East Piano Competition and went on to win many other prestigious competitions and awards during her career. She later studied at one of the top music conservatories in Russia, namely the Nizhny Novgorod Conservatory where she graduated as a concert pianist, accompanist, chamber ensemble musician and piano teacher. She went on to perform and teach as a senior lecturer at various colleges, music schools and universities in Russia.
Tatiana came to South Africa in 2005 and has performed many solo concerts and piano duets around the country and in Zimbabwe since moving here. As a teacher she has developed a reputation for excellence and as a result of her consistently high standard of achievements by her students in exams and National Eisteddfods, she has been acknowledged and recognised by trinity College of London as one of the best piano teachers in Johannesburg. She currently consults for Trinity College and assists with the development and improvement of all exam related issues from sight-reading to the choosing of exam pieces for their books internationally. Students who study with Tatiana will learn all the important aspects of music namely ear training, sight-reading, technic, theory and practical and can do exams from grade one right through to university entrance. Tatiana is a dedicated teacher and commits herself wholeheartedly to her students often going above and beyond to ensure their success and development. She believes that all children, with persistence and hard work and the active participation and support of their parents, can achieve a high standard of playing.
