Experience

2015-Pres. Assistant Principal, Sparkman High School, Madison County Schools, Huntsville, AL Presently, primary responsibilities include serving as the Discipline Coordinator, Attendance Coordinator, Technology Coordinator, and College Board AP Testing Coordinator due to my previous experience with both College Board and other state testing. Serve as the liaison and mentor for all new administrators and continue to work closely with teachers with ATOT which involves evaluating regular education, collaborative, and self-contained teachers. Due to my experience in athletics, serve as backup AD and coordinate various functions that may be hosted in our facilities.

In 2019, primarily responsible for athletics and facilities focusing on eligibility of athletes and coaches and maintaining all indoor and outdoor venues. Serve as the liaison for the Science Department and work closely with teachers with Teacher Effectiveness, which involves evaluating regular education teachers. Serve as the Lead Administrator in the event of the principal’s absence.

In 2017-2019, primarily responsible for curriculum and instruction focusing on professional development and scheduling for the school and working with area colleges to assist with dual enrollment. Serve as the liaison for the Guidance and Math Departments and work closely with teachers with EDUCATE Alabama, which involves evaluating regular education teachers, special education teachers, counselors, and media specialists using the current state evaluation format. Coordinate PLC and REACH meetings. Serve as the Lead Administrator in the event of the principal’s absence.

In 2015-2017, primarily responsible for coordinating, maintaining, and enforcing the school’s discipline and attendance policy for 10th-12th grade students. Function as the school’s liaison with PTO and various alternative school programs. This process involves checking transcripts and maintaining accurate files of STAR certification, current physical, and birth certificate for all athletes. Also responsible for conducting home visits for all newly enrolled athletes in order to determine eligibility. Responsible for coordinating venues for athletic events to ensure that proper security and officials are obtained and that appropriate paperwork filed. Function as the school’s representative to District 7 meetings hosted by the AHSAA and ensure that all coaches are certified in CPR and that all coaches complete the appropriate courses or certifications: Coaching Principles, Sports First Aid, and STAR. Responsible for monitoring all funds pertaining to the Deshler’s athletic programs.
