Bluegreen Vacations/Hilton Grand Vacations (October, 2019 - March 2024)

(Hilton acquired Bluegreen in January 2024 and my role eliminated but my team and programs remained) Vice President, Business Resiliency, Business Continuity, Crisis Management, Safety, and Security. As Vice President of Business Resiliency, I was accountable for the Business Continuity, Safety, and Security for Resort Operations, Sales Centers, Call Centers, and Corporate Offices. Responsible for creating a culture of business resilience. I advised leaders at various levels in the organization on matters relating to business continuity, safety, and security, including times of crisis which included COVID, hurricanes, wildfires, civil unrest.

During COVID, I developed the working model to reopen and resume all operations, and partnered with Housekeeping and Engineering to develop sanitation protocols and personal protective equipment. Conducted daily briefings with executive management regarding staff and operational impacts, required actions and communications.

Accomplishments & Ongoing Initiative:

● Developed and led the Corporate Emergency Response Team (CERT) through all types of business impacts.

● Completed BIA and Risk Assessments for all resort departments to develop Business Continuity Plans

● Completed new Emergency Response Plans for all locations; Incorporated the Rockdove technology platform.

● Conducted tabletop exercises for Bluegreen resorts, Call Centers and Corporate offices, to ensure business continuity plans were up to date, teams understood their roles and responsibilities and critical business functions can meet recovery time objectives.

● Developed, implemented, and maintained safety programs, policies and procedures.

● Provided leadership to improve OSHA compliance and remediated penalties.

Lifespan (March, 2018 – October, 2019)

Director, Enterprise Business Continuity Management As the first Director Enterprise Business Continuity Management, engaged Lifespan management, affiliates, and others to develop, maintain, and implement business continuity strategies and solutions, including risk assessments, business impact analyses, strategy selection, and documentation of business continuity plans and procedures.

Accomplishments:

● Developed a Business Continuity Management Steering Committee to ensure the Enterprise BCM Program delivered on its mission, through the development of robust response and recovery programs for all Lifespan affiliates.

● Established a Lifespan Crisis Management Team, which oversaw and provided support to affiliates and corporate offices at time of crisis; This includes the Rhode Island Hospital Nursing Strike in 2018.

● Implemented a business unit crisis management team to support their business interruptions and crisis events.

● Identified, selected, and implementing an enterprise-wide Emergency Notification System

● Worked with Information Services to define Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Report Point Objectives (RPO) for the BCM Program, which was utilized by the IT department as a standard for their recovery efforts.

● Implemented a new BCP development lifecycle and developed a new enterprise business impact analysis (BIA) for multiple department functions.

● Responded to varying business interruptions & facilitated lessons learned with executives & other management.

● Continued to implement on the BCM roadmap which included these program maturity efforts: Governance, Emergency Response, Crisis Management, Business Continuity, IT Disaster Recovery, and Supply Chain Management.

Gartner (August, 2015 - March, 2018)

Senior Director, Business Resiliency Program

Responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, testing, education, and maintenance of the enterprise business resiliency program. Provided strategic vision with regards to directing the business continuity and disaster recovery initiatives throughout the global enterprise. Accomplishments:

● Served as the program head for all enterprise contingency planning efforts across the enterprise; programs include Emergency Response, Crisis Management, Business Continuity, and IT Disaster Recovery

● Completed BIA and Risk Assessments for Business Continuity Plan development.

● Established the first Business Resiliency Steering Committee, comprised of C-Suite executives from a cross section of the organization, to ensure Gartner’s contingency programs continuously improved.

● Implemented the first enterprise-wide business resiliency policy

● Implemented a global business continuity methodology ensuring critical business operations remain resilient.

o Implemented new BCM software to document new business continuity and IT disaster recovery plans.

o Documented new business impact analysis methodology and risk assessment framework. o Established a corporate crisis management team and implemented local crisis management teams.

CVS Health (March, 2014 – May, 2015)

Director, Business Continuity Management

Worked with the newly developed BCM Steering Committee to approve a BCP policy, a new plan development methodology and documented a multi-year BCP implementation roadmap. Implemented two new BCM tools: BCP software system and an emergency notification system. Additional Accomplishments:

● Our business continuity program was audited by our largest customer at the start of my third week. Once the final report was issued, my team and I mitigated all the findings within 8 months, as agreed upon. Mitigation included a new BCM policy to meet industry best practices, identifying critical business functions, performing BIAs, documenting new BCPs and exercising those BCPs. The mitigation plan also required a multilevel review of each continuity plan developed.

● Implemented a new BCP development lifecycle and developed a new enterprise business impact analysis (BIA)

● Completed threat and risk assessments for critical facilities.

● Worked with Information Technology to align recovery tiers; recovery time and recovery point objectives.

● Created the first enterprise Data Breach Response Plan. The Plan incorporated a modified ICS- Incident Command Structure incorporating many disciplines throughout the organization.

● Drafted a new crisis management strategy for the enterprise, which included a Pandemic Response Plan

Liberty Mutual Group (September, 2008 – March, 2014) Director, Business Continuity Planning & Physical Security Business Continuity Planning: Lead the effort to advance enterprise-wide Emergency Response, Crisis Management and Business Continuity programs for domestic and international operations; Implemented a new enterprise wide BCP planning software and mass notification system; Managed multiple business continuity events; Updated enterprise Pandemic Preparedness Plan; Facilitated semi- annual Corporate Emergency Response Team exercises; Aligned business and IT recovery time & recovery point objectives; Designed the Asset Management / Investment group contingency programs, Created a cross-functional BCP council. Also worked with IT to implement an enterprise wide Enhanced 911 (E911) standard for employee safety.

Physical Security: Led the effort to update the domestic physical security program standards, which included the implementation of physical security standards for owned and leased facilities; Transitioned video surveillance system to Video Over IP; Designed and implemented a state of the art global security operations center (GSOC); Standardized software and hardware for all security systems as needed across 600+ domestic facilities. Similar standards were also incorporated at new and existing international locations. Implemented a cross functional Physical Security Council and was an active member of the Enterprise Information Security Council. Additional Accomplishments:

● Developed Power-Backup standards for all office locations, using the updated BCP program data.

● Collaborated with business units and corporate departments to development a governance policy, strategies, processes, systems, and guidelines to support business objectives, while protecting brand image and assets and complying with state and federal regulations.

Business Continuity Associates, Inc. (February, 2008 – September, 2008) President/Program Manager

As a self-employed consultant, led the effort to develop, implement, test, and maintain Emergency Response, Crisis Management and Business Continuity plans for multiple clients and facilities. Also worked with various Massachusetts’ State agencies to enhance their Continuity of Operations (COOP) plans.

Pfizer Incorporated (December, 2003- January, 2008) Associate Director, Business Continuity Planning

Led the effort to develop, implement, and test Crisis Management and Business Continuity programs for multiple sites, divisions and global business lines. Accomplishments:

● Led site crisis management and business continuity teams through actual events that included a global data center outage, chemical release leading to a shelter in place event, fire/explosion in a lab setting, IT virus attacks, construction accidents, and more.

● Led the site Crisis Management team during Pfizer’s participation in TOPOFF 3

● Managed more than 100 business and functional lines coordinators through the development of emergency response and business continuity strategies based on risk assessments and business impact analyses (BIA)

● Maintained Pfizer’s Global Research and Development headquarters’ crisis management plan.

● Partnered with the Information Technology group to align Disaster Recovery strategies with the Business Continuity needs, i.e., aligning business critical application recovery plans with the business critical process recovery time objectives
