WORK EXPERIENCE

DFW Airport Fire Rescue Apparatus Operator

08/19 - Present

DFW Airport Fire Rescue Firefighter

05/10–Present

During my time at the Airport I have seen many changes and have been able to adapt and overcome to the obstacles that come with change. I was hired on when everybody was required to become certified on an Apparatus and we now have a Driver-Operator Program. I was also part of a team that was assembled to assist the Fire Department in the training of the new SCBA units we were receiving. For this assignment, the team and I were recognized by the Department by being awarded the Certificate of Merit. My current station assignment is at Station 4B and during my short stint at the station I have been part of a Crew who has assisted at the Fire Training Research Center as Instructors helping with teaching classes to the outside agencies. Before being assigned to this Station my previous assignment was DPS Station 5B. While I was there the Crew as well as Myself had been awarded several “Life Safety Awards” The award was for our fast-acting response and having the ability to render Advanced Life Saving techniques to our Patients. Although, I am only a Certified EMT being familiar with the equipment allowed me to act swiftly to assist in Advance Life Safety situations. The result was getting Patients to the hospital in a timely manner and the outcome being life altering where they were able to walk out of the hospital and return home to their loved ones.

Little John’s Wrecking Yard Forklift Operator

01/08–05/10

As a Forklift operator I had many duties that involved me lifting heavy pallets and other types or equipment out of customers trucks daily. I was in-charge of taking diesel barrels to the heavy machinery throughout the yard to assure the equipment was filled. When there was not anything that needed to be off loaded, I worked in the office taking down customers information when they would sell precious metals.
